In the Beginning
For this take i made this image look like a Daqguerreotype
For this i had to do a few simple steps -
first i added some noise into my image to make it look more grainy, i went into filter - noise - add noise and played about with it until i was happy with the look.
next i changed the hue and saturation of the image to make it look a little older. I done this by going to image - adjustments - hue/saturation and played around with it until i got the desired look.
i then looked for some old vintage looking images to place on top of my image, once i found what i was looking for i placed it over the image and selected soft light and took the opacity down to 40%

Steel Wool Photography
Some of the images I took while having a go at steel wool photography.
To achieve this I used :
Fine Steel Wool
Metal Baking Whisk
Strong Fire Proof Rope
A 9 Volt Battery
Nikon D3200 Camera
Sturdy Tripod
Steps to Achieve :
The first thing I done was setting up my camera, I set my camera onto manual, I set the aperture to F8 and the shutterspeed between 8 secs and 10 secs. After setting up my camera I placed it on my tripod and ensured that it was sturdy and level.
The next thing I step is to take the steel wool and pull it apart so that more oxygen gets into it while it’s burning, thus creating more sparks.
The next step is to tie the rope around the bottom of the whisk tightly to ensure that the rope doesn’t come loose while spinning it around.
To light the steel wool, use the 9 volt battery and run it across the steel wool, this will light it and cause it to spark.
As soon as the steel wool starts to spark, start to spin the rope around at a medium to fast speed. (make sure when spinning the steel wool that you aren’t near anything that can catch on fire as the sparks can fly up to 30 feet).

People 2 - Studio Work
Lighting Techniques - Frontal Lighting
After researching different types of frontal lighting, I would like to recreate this image using frontal lighting. I would like to make this image a little softer so that it doesn’t look so harsh.

Lighting Techniques - Rim Lighting
After researching different types of rim lighting in the studio, I would like to recreate something like the images above. Rim lighting casts a “Angelic Glow” around the model.

Lighting Techniques - 45 Degree Lighting
After researching different types of 45 degree lighting, I have chosen this image to recreate. 45 Degree lighting adds more light into the opposite side of the face and also casts a softer light over the model as compared to side lighting.

Lighting Techniques - Side Lighting
After researching different types of side lighting in the studio I would like to recreate the image above. I would like to recreate this image using a male model instead of a female to create more mood in the image. Side lighting is harsh light cast onto one side of the models face and to darken the opposite side of the face.

Product Photography Ideas Research
I decided to use a bottle of sprite to photograph instead of a pack of sweets. I chose to photograph a Sprite bottle as I would like to recreate the image that features the lemon and lime but take the glass out of the image and use that as my creative image.

Glasgow Transport
https://vimeo.com/193884310
We were given the task to create a video with a chosen theme that involves Glasgow. Before filming our video we had to plan where we were going to shoot and also the composition in which we wanted each video clip. To plan where I wanted to shoot my video clips I went onto google and searched different types of transport within Glasgow. I then completed a story board to go along with my video ideas. When I was ready to film my video clips I used the iPad and went to the locations in which I wanted to feature in my video. To merge all of the video clips together I used iMovie on my iPad, I arranged the clips in the order that I thought they looked best in. I also removed all of the sound from each video clip as it wasn’t very pleasant. In place of the sound that I removed, I added in one of the audio clips that was built into iMovie. Overall I found this task fairly easy when it came to videoing. Editing the video clips was a little bit of a challenge but once I had learned how to use iMovie it was a lot easier.
