I had some amazing experiences today. Some conversations I’d never thought I’d be able to have. I never thought I’d be able to talk in my native language this way, let alone in Japanese.

I wish I could go back in time and hug small me and tell them I’d be where I am now. That I’d find such hopeful human interactions.

I don’t think they’d believe me. But maybe they’d try to.

Worth noting that a federal judge has already put one of Trump's dumbass executive orders (the revocation of birthright citizenship one) on temporary hold. Yes etc, temporary, but 21 states sued the instant it was enacted and it's already been enjoined. Etc etc., evil not unstoppable, stupid EOs quickly blocked, small bits of hope in terrible timeline, so forth and etcetera.

But I just read a pretty good fic published in 2014-2015 (you know, roughly TEN YEARS AGO) and I was like, damn this is so cool, I have to leave a comment, even if you know, they probably wont see it...

you know how most of the things humans use as spices are poisonous or repellent to most other mammals? and you know how anything vaguely d&d inspired has dwarves being way more poison resistant than even humans?

dwarf cuisine shouldn’t be bland, it should be unimaginably spicy and potentially harmful or fatal to humans. like green potato and rhubarb leaf salad with a festive garnish of yew berries and deadly nightshade berries, that kind of thing.

In getting to the end of the initial “let’s make sure you know how to use a computer” required class before my actual grad school classes start.

And I’m overwhelmed on many levels. I’m trying lots of other things, like getting back into an exercise routine and trying to make more food at home, and also opening up and taking commissions so I can help pay for said classes on top of my full time job.

And just. Ya’ll. I’m tired. I’m trying to take care of myself but I’m also just. Tired.
