iiiii am going to assume you mean asra and julian! if i’m wrong please send me another ask ;w;

we do know that, canonically, that they didn’t function very well as a couple for a whole bunch of reasons that inadvertently stem from the apprentice. hoo boy, dating sims are like that. 

but if mc wasn’t there, and they found each other anyway, i can kind of see asra and julian working out as a couple! so for the sake of headcanons, that’s the au i’ll put these headcanons in.

they found each other’s interest through a mutual love for discovery, since asra likely did not join lucio’s hunt for a plague cure in these circumstances. maybe portia sends julian out to ferry something between home and asra’s shop and the two of them meet? this was completely unplanned, portia swears (she is lying)

give me wingwoman portia or give me death

honestly? teaching each other science and magic would probably be a huge part of the friendship that their eventual relationship was built on. they’re both so curious, and sating that curiosity together would be a big thing for the two of them.

they might eventually run a shop together! it sells a mix of both magical and medicinal remedies, and whenever you walk past there’s some sort of amazing herbal smell wafting from inside.

they’re surprisingly functional as a couple who owns a shop, and it’s always nice to hear the cheerful banter that flies back and forth whenever they interact. they get their customers involved in their antics sometimes too!

we know that nadia only has eyes for you as her partner, and if you’re a classy sort of affectionate in public, she’ll find it amusing how the courtiers and other nobles watch with jealousy as you tug her into the occasional hug.

hand-holding out in public??? yes??? especially if you’re out in the markets, you hold onto each others’ hands to weave through the crowds safely!

she teaches you to dance! it’s late afternoon and it’s warm, and the two of you are gliding across the ballroom floor, laughing and stepping on each others’ toes, in steps that are half dancing, half hugs.

i have a really clear mental image of the two of you just going on a picnic or something! out in the woods, sitting in the dappled shade, as you two feed each other bites of your lunch and successfully avoid your duties for the rest of the afternoon

i can! i didn’t really consider these two as a ship until you sent me this ask, but now that i do think about it? i do quite enjoy. i actually finished book two a couple of hours ago and just ;A; oh my god that ending? i didn’t need my heart anyway thanks intsys

here’s a few general headcanons i’ve thought about in the meantime! uhh, spoilers for book two, chapter thirteen.

obviously, the two of them would have worked together after the conflict to ensure that another surtr situation never happened again, so i think they would have become friends after a while.

laevatein began to think for herself after her father’s death. she has no choice, since she becomes queen after the events of book two, but it brings her a little more clarity. despite this, she remains quite reserved, especially since laegjarn isn’t around anymore.

i’m a sucker for marriages of alliance, so please consider that, a little down the track once things settle down, both nifl and muspell’s advisors start to push their rulers towards each other as a peacemaking bargain.

it isn’t really an attempt to “unite” the kingdoms, per se; there are a lot of cultural differences between the two lands, so it’s more of an insurance of peace.

it’s laevatein, surprisingly, that agrees first? she’d do anything for her home and hey, hríd isn’t a bad person, it’s better than the marriage that would have probably been arranged if this wasn’t a thing.

despite laevatein agreeing first, hríd absolutely is not opposed to the idea. he’s a smart man, loyal to nifl. since he didn’t have a lover beforehand, there are no ties for him to hesitate on when he agrees to the arranged marriage.

he’s completely fine with it, honestly! it makes you happy, and seeing a happy smile on your face from being around him just makes his day.

he’s not super big on big public displays of affection, but if you come up and hug him in public? he hugs you back, makes a pun (probably something about embracing your affectionate nature ... nyahaha!) and asks if everything’s okay.

tbh if you left him alone for an extended period of time he’d probably start to miss your commonplace hugs

i have a really nice mental image of henry and his s/o curled up on a couch together under a blanket, reading something (probably something wildly interesting about the intricacies of dark magic) together and just enjoying each others’ company.

grima

grima doesn’t outwardly “do” affection, especially in public; if he’s in a good mood, you might get an arm around your shoulders, but not much aside from that.

despite this, he never really openly scorns how affectionate you are; the worst you’d probably get is a roll of his eyes or a gruff “not now”.

behind closed doors though? he’s surprisingly big on cuddles, and it’s close to 50/50 on who will actually initiate them! even though grima doesn’t like to show it to others, having you nearby is extremely comforting for him, and it’s nice for him to know that his partner is safe when wrapped up in his arms.

as for you? well, you know he gives good hugs, and he’s basically a space heater in winter.

while i will write nsfw on occasion, it’s not something i usually write, so there may be a longer wait in nsfw requests.
