Asif Basra's Death: Vivek Agnihotri Says Late Actor Was A Bit Bitter About Bollywood Actor Asif Basra known for films like Kai Po Che!, Krrish 3, Jab We Met and web series like Paatal Lok, was found dead in a private guest house in McLeod Ganj, Himachal Pradesh, on Thursday (November 12, 2020). His untimely demise came as a shocker to his colleagues and fans. Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri who teamed up with the late actor in the 2019 film Tashkent Files, reacted to the news of his death while speaking with a leading tabloid. Vivek Agnihotri Was Planning To Cast Asif Basra In His Upcoming Film The director-producer revealed that he was going to cast Asif in his upcoming film Kashmir Files, and was quoted as saying by Times of India, "But destiny had other plans." Vivek who also directed Basra in his thriller TV show Saturday Suspense, revealed that the news of Basra's death is yet to sink in. "I am in shock and it is yet to sink in that he's no more. I last met him when we had a party to celebrate the completion of the 100-day run of Tashkent Files. We had a blast. He was a personal friend," he was quoted as saying. Vivek Says Asif Was Bitter About Bollywood The filmmaker said, "I found him quite fine when he did Tashkent Files, he was a bit bitter about Bollywood but then I guess many of us are, even I am." Elaborating further, he continued, "Well, I have nothing sensational to reveal here. We simply used to talk about how we don't take good actors seriously in our industry. He used to say yahan ya to phir star hota hai ya everybody else hota hai. Supporting actors are not supported. He had issues about that," and added, "But that's true. I agreed with him." Vivek Agnihotri On Why He Has A Problem With The Star System "Stars are allowed to waste money to the tune of 60-70 per cent of a film's budget. Someone should research this and see- so many film with stars in the lead are so pathetic- no content, star kuch bhi bol raha hai, kuch bhi pehan raha hai. And why is this being tolerated? Because people can be fooled with PR campaigns and absolute lies. I have worked with stars who smoke and drink but they paint an image in public that they are teetotallers. Time is not spent on craft and talent is not respected. And let me tell you I am not bitter per se. Mere se koi bhi kaam karta hai main wahi baat karta hoon that how we can make our film industry better. So I can't really say whether Asif was indeed bitter or not, but he wasn't talking about great experiences in the industry," the filmmaker told the tabloid.

The actor turned 26 on November 10 and along with the wishes, Rahul went on to confess his true feelings for her. Now, we came across a video in which Disha has finally reacted to Rahul's proposal. One of Disha's friends Maanika Dhhaandaa took to her Instagram story and shared a video in which the actor is cutting her birthday cake in the presence of her friends. When her friends asked her are you happy and if they are the reasons, she quipped 'Obviously!'. Then one friend of Disha asks if she is happier because 'someone' proposed her on national television. On hearing this, Parmar turns red while blushing and hides her face cutely. Meanwhile, check out the proposal video of Rahul in which he writes 'Marry me' message on his T-Shirt. He also holds a ring while going down on his knee to propose Disha. Take a look:
https://www.instagram.com/colorstv/?utm_source=ig_embed It was last year when Rahul hinted about seeing Disha. He had told, "I met Disha through common friends two years ago. We hit it off instantly, and often hang out together. It would be premature to say that we are in love, but yes, we are trying to get to know each other well. Disha is a simple girl. She is also very kind and I like those qualities about her. A few days ago, I had a music concert in Pune, so I invited her to fly with me. Since we are best friends, we just thought of spending some quality time together. I don’t know what the future holds for us."

Exclusive: When Shah Rukh Khan-Aishwarya Rai song in 'Devdas' couldn't finish in time; Sanjay Leela Bhansali-Ismail Darbar's fights to be blamed?
Ismail Darbar gave some lilting tunes in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' and 'Devdas' but Ismail and Bhansali never worked after that, at least not till date. Bhansali's 'Ram Leela', 'Padmaavat' and 'Bajirao Mastani' did not have Ismail as music director. Ismail has been candid that Bhansali and he had ego clashes in both films but never said that one such clash allegedly even raised the film's budget by a substantial amount. In an exclusive conversation with ETimes, Ismail claims that Bhansali wanted him to make some changes in the 'Bairi Piya' song from 'Devdas' featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai. Ismail did not relent and this in turn ate into a lot of time, which eventually led to Bhansali being compelled to shift his set from Film City (Goregaon). Naturally, a recreation of sorts, even if compromised, was not a commercially viable thing to do- but Bhansali had no option but to do just that. Alleges Ismail, "Bhansali was not happy even with 'Dola Re'. I was not ready to change, neither 'Dola Re' nor 'Bairi Piya'. Our skirmishes delayed the shoot. Bhansali's booked time duration in Film City ended aur phir unko ko ek new set lagana padha away from Film City to complete the song." According to Ismail, "After the line 'Kaise Kahaun' in 'Bairi Piya', quite a few shots are from the new set. "Bhansali and I are still good friends and very much in touch. We used to argue and quarrel a lot. Both of us are strongly creative and opinionated. I was just a violinist in his music team and he gave me the privilege of providing music to his two most crucial films in his career. I would love to work with Bhansali again but not at the cost of compromising my creativity. Post 'Devdas', Bhansali has started making music all by himself. All the three films had very good music but I still rate 'Devdas' and 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' better than them. Frankly, while yes he hasn't asked me to give music to his films after 'Devdas', I must add here that our fights have been rather funny... one day we argued heavily, the other day we were sitting and eating together on the set," Ismail signed off. Bhansali remained unavailable for comment..

Emraan Hashmi On Nepotism Debate: I Had To Work My Way Up From A Supporting Actor To A Leading Man Emraan Hashmi Says It's Not Enough If One Is Just A Good Actor "You need to have a commercial success, too. Thankfully, for me, Murder worked and a few films after that. But I had my share of failures too. It's all about journey, taking it to your chin when you've a failure and getting up again," the Chehre actor told Hindustan Times. The film industry faced a barrage of allegations post actor Sushant Singh Rajput's untimely demise. The unfortunate event gave rise to a lot of negative narratives, and accusations of nepotism, toxic work culture and drug abuse were directed at many people in Bollywood. In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Emraan Hashmi opened up about the bleak times that the film industry is undergoing through, the nepotism debate and the importance of commercial success. Emraan Hashmi Feels A Lot Of Things About The Film Industry Are Being MisconstruedEmraan told the tabloid that he feels a lot of things are being "misconstrued", and therefore "misunderstood." "I hope that this would neither have a long term effect on Bollywood nor will it dent aspirations of those who want to join showbiz," he was quoted as saying. Recently, a few producers and film bodies filed a legal lawsuit against a section of media for allegedly defaming reputation of Bollywood. Speaking about it, Emraan said that it's "because of a handful" that many are suffering in both media and entertainment industries. He further explained, "Breaking news is a very lucrative part of 24-hour news culture. Unfortunately, that breaking news has become more tabloid oriented. Celebrities and stories about them have always been a popular pick for that prime time breaking news. It's time pressing issues like the pandemic and the economy are given more coverage. Let authorities do their job in finding a conclusion to Sushant's (Singh Rajput) case. Meanwhile, I hope people stop yelling and blaming each other and we all unite in tackling a more pressing issue which is the pandemic." Emraan Hashmi Says He Is Not Going To Be Apologetic If He Is A Part Of A Film Family While speaking with Hindustan Times, the Bard of Blood actor also shared his opinion on the nepotism debate. While the actor admitted that he got an entry in Bollywood because of his filmmaker-uncle Mahesh Bhatt, he also added that he finds the never-ending discussions around insiders vs outsiders as ridiculous. "I'm all for equal opportunities, which is only fair. But these conversations seems like nepotism only happens in the film industry, when it's not the case. I'm not going to be apologetic if I'm a part of a film family. And if I want someone to carry my legacy forward, I would want my son to do it. Why would I give it to someone else?" the actor explained. Would Emraan Hashmi Be Okay If His Son Ayaan Decides To Be An Actor? Emraan was quoted as saying, "Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'm not going to catch someone by their throat and change their perception. I would support Ayaan if he wants to join this industry. I'd tell him to care two hoots about who says what. And that he might have an entry point but he'll have to work hardest to prove himself, nobody will hold his hand and take him to his destination." Emraan Hashmi Says Those Who Are A Part Of Film Families Also Have To Work Hard To Achieve Success "I think it's an uphill task for someone who's a star son/daughter because it comes with huge responsibility and pressure. A new kid in the block doesn't have that. So, either ways there are pros and cons. Also, it's not that outsiders haven't done well. In Bollywood, there are more number of actors who've come from outside and are successful than those part of film families," he was quoted as saying. Emraan Hashmi Says He Had A Bumpy Ride In Bollywood Despite Having A Certain Access Speaking about it, Emraan said, "With that access came as a huge responsibility because I wasn't anyone's son, no one was putting money on me as a leading man. In my first opportunity, I got to play a supporting role and it was made clear that I've to prove my credentials to move forward. And I had to work my way up from a supporting actor to a leading man. So I don't know how I would be classified in nepotism debate." Emraan Hashmi Says It's Not Enough If One Is Just A Good Actor "You need to have a commercial success, too. Thankfully, for me, Murder worked and a few films after that. But I had my share of failures too. It's all about journey, taking it to your chin when you've a failure and getting up again," the Chehre actor told Hindustan Times.
