O' Juliet --buddy

O Juliet: I will write about my character’s feelings for yours.

Buddy Pine/Syndrome:

Mirage's feelings towards Buddy are--in a word--complicated.

They met in a group home after they both ran away from their respective families and bonded because the other kids didn't really seem to take a shine to them. Some months later they ended up running away from the group home together and Mirage utilized her abilities to take care of them. Buddy--to her knowledge--never questioned how she could always get them what they needed, it was just a fact of life. At this time they were aged 13 (Buddy) and 15 (Mirage).

At the beginning of their relationship, they were just close friends; close friends but, again, JUST FRIENDS. Their relationship didn't turn romantic until after Buddy turned 18, there is no real reason behind this, it's just how things happened.

It is out of this romance--this love--that her reasoning for going along with his plans is borne.

While their relationship is far from a standard romance, it suits them and it is this connection that fuels Mirage's anger when Buddy shows an IMMENSE lack of regard for her life as Mr. Incredible is threatening it. He says later that he knew that she wasn't in any danger and tries to kiss her but she shoves him away and scolds him--something she hadn't done in a very long time. Even more surprising, she actually gets away with it.

Even after 'betraying' Buddy, her feelings for him remain unresolved and conflicted.

The words brought a grin to Mirage's lips, reciting the same information to the man on the other end of the phone as she had to so many others. It was a routine at this point, a script that she knew by heart. The words fell from her lips without a thought, nervousness that had been there the first few times she'd said them--oh so long ago--long since shed in the name of practice.

And once she was done, once her part was played and she'd made all the preparations, she pushed away from her desk with the intention of giving him a status report. But it seemed he'd grown impatient; excited over the fact that they'd finally found HIM. The person he'd been looking for, preparing for since this had all started.

She smiled, heels clicking on the floor as she made her way to the door; offering her answer as her form brushed against his.
