Hello!!! Hope you're having a nice day, I offer a self indulgent idea of Teruhashi and Kaido as friends 🤲
I once saw a fanfic where Kaidou was a perfect pretty boy like Teruhashi, his cringe-o-meter was just too high for his beauty to shine through. Loved the idea ever since

I really can’t get over how adorable Saiki and Teruhashi are.
I really love how she went through a whole character arc from the obsessive need gain the interest of the only guy who rejected her solely because she can’t accept rejection, to accepting Saiki as the person he is and loving him by all the aspects she sees. I love how Saiki became the subject of her love, with all his introverted personality and traits; rather than being an object, a reward of just receiving another oofffuuu.
I love how Saiki got to hear everything on her mind, including her thought process. I love how he always looks out for her and respects her best efforts to keep his “best girl” attitude instead of judging her for it. I love how Saiki started from thinking “I must find a way to make her stay away from me, she only wants me because I rejected her.” to “You all do not even see how much she is trying so hard to keep the standards you all set on her. You don’t even notice how tired she is. Enough of being the perfect girl, let’s get you to the infirmary and rest.” at some point and then eventually— when Teruhashi chooses to be herself despite having a burn out over her love rival, Saiki does give her an oofffffuu. He blushes. She’s sure she heard it wrong.
Their relationship is one of the most adorable, genuine and healthy one I have ever seen— I never expected them to help each other grow as people and have such a wholesome relationship, especially to consider that the Pretty Girl x Main Character is an overused trope. But here I am. Kinning Teruhashi and admiring Saiki/Teruhashi and smiling so much.

I know everyone jokes about how Saiki decided to use his mind control power to make his pink hair seem natural instead of dyeing his hair, and how it's ridiculous that he doesn't use his power to get rid of world hunger instead, but his perspective makes a lot of sense to me.
Imagine if he did solve world hunger. Then, he would come across another evil, say sexism, and he would feel the need to solve that issue too. I mean, if he solved world hunger, why can't he solve another issue too? He'd fall down this slippery slope of solving every issue on Earth until the world becomes a utopia. But is that alright for him to do? Is he allowed to use his powers to control the thoughts and actions of others and make the world unrecognizable for the sake of removing all evil? Is helping people enough of a reason to turn the world into his playground?
And so, he chooses to leave the world as is.
But then there's the guilt of having all the power in the world and doing nothing about the evil he sees, which is why he pretends to be a selfish jerk. "I'm only helping you because it benefits me. Don't get the wrong idea about this." Because as soon as he admits to himself that he is doing something that is selfless, he will have to confront how hypocritical he is.
He makes excuses because he can't cope with his power. After all, he's only just a child.

The thing about Teruhashi is that she isn't "the peak of femininity", she's the epitome of what the patriarchy wants women to be.
Men are nice to her, love her and give her things -- but it isn't really for her. Men go out of their way to give her attention because they hope they will get attention from a pretty girl in return. They might not want her to do anything specific -- they just want her to exist for them, and to always be smiling at them, because they think that's what a pretty woman should be. According to the patriarchy, pretty women exist to be lovely and to brighten everyone's days. If they're not then there's no point to them.
Honestly I think Teruhashi has made it her mission to be "perfect" in this way because it's that way she feels she has control over the situation. Weaponising her beauty and manipulating people is all she can do because she can't use her voice. People listen to her, yes, but only because she's pretty and nice for them. They love her, but they don't respect her as a person. I believe that if Teruhashi was truly upset about something she would probably be labeled as "crazy" -- and she knows this, which is why she tries so hard to make even her tears palatable and pretty.
That's why it sort of rubs me up the wrong way when she's praised for her efforts by Saiki. Why should forcing ourselves into a mould for men to admire us be praised? It's sad that Teruhashi has to do this. It's sad that she has to act and perform to feel like she has even a little control over the waves of people constantly fawning over her. She did not choose this life. Why should Teruhashi be praised for being a good girl and fitting into the patriarchy? I don't know if that was the intended message but that's what it feels like at times and it's frustrating! It's so frustrating!
My one hope is that she does refuse to answer a guy's question after she faints that one time, which paints a hopeful picture of her future character development. I do wish they'd taken this a bit further, but, hey ho.
In short, "the peak of femininity" is not something that really exists, because we are all our own people. Being a woman shouldn't be about living for others, it should be about being a fucking human like anyone else.
