I hope this won't be read as mean or overly accusatory, I genuinely just want to bring this up for next bracket. I agree with all you've said about people calling characters twinks when they're not, but if you didn't like people doing that and also voting for non-twink characters, why were they allowed in? And will they still be allowed in this time?

A lot of people and passersby will see the polls going around and think "so this counts as a twink" or "alright this little community is fine with joking about these characters being twinks" (I was the second one until you put your thoughts after the winner)

Of course the whole 'calling characters who are just queer/faggy twinks' problem extends beyond all of this, but allowing entrance for these non-twink characters in the "Twink Bracket" really doesn't help

Non-twink characters are still allowed in because I am actually okay with the joking, I was mostly just frustrated with people who seemingly weren't joking. Jokes are fine, this blog is meant to be fun, it isn't meant to be serious. I do sometimes exclude characters, but. On the whole, I try to avoid it, as much as possible. I may be more strict next time, but right now, I don't really see a reason to.

Also on that last part: I feel like you probably shouldn't decide that a character is a twink because "oh they were in the tumblr bracket" tbh. Like, just in general, don't let a character's presence (or for some reason lack thereof) in the bracket make that judgement for you?

I'm going to be honest anon, you can still submit them anyway if you want. There's no such thing as clogging the tournament, I appreciate all of the submissions, and as long as they're fictional (which you have said they are) you can submit them.

The difference is mostly that twunks are more muscular, compared to twinks tbh.

It's because I don't want the bracket to have a lot of characters who have already competed. I am willing to run bonus polls with any particularly popular characters who were intelligent, but I'd like the bracket itself to be quite different.

I'm going to be putting up the submissions form next week.

I am, however, gojng to say in advance that characters who made it to round 3 last time cannot be submitted. I am willing to do bonus polls at the end, probably with lyney (blog theme), mello (second) and cloud (winner), but they cannot be submitted.

I will also say that I am including an optional question on the submissions, that was not there last time, for the fandom and character tags. You don't have to put them there, but it helps me, and may give your character a fairer shot.

honestly i never thought the phrase “i want that twink obliterated” was like a sexual thing. like when i read the phrase i imagine “a meteor like the one that killed the dinosaurs is summoned from the heavens and hits the twink in question” type situation

Just to check if my concept of twink is right. A think is a slim/ skinny men with an usually androgynous or femme appearance. Making the current winner of the pools not suited for such due to his large shoulders and muscles?

Definitions vary slightly depending on who you ask, in that some get a lot more specific than this, but this is generally correct, yes.
