a slight throwback to the first inuyasha illustration i ever tried to make back in january T_T (because you can also tell i didn’t know how to draw inuyashas ears at this point…) this was my first try at a fully painted illustration, but i never got around to it (i didn’t know how to draw the tetsusaiga rofl…) this was also my first shot at trying to replicate the black tetsusaiga, which i didn’t even paint until just yesterday… ha ha…
i’m glad that i finally finished it to share with you all (even though it’s months old but i just finished it now…) because my hand needs a break!!!!!!!!! *SOBS*

So I know Kagome and Kikyo are supposed to look alike… and they don’t really in the anime lol. Also (I could be wrong) I think Kikyo is a bit older? In my head, Kagome is 15 and Kikyo is like 17/18. I drew Kagome first, and tried to give her more roundness to her face since she’s younger~
This was fun to draw almost the same face, but to add enough subtle differences to make them unique ☺️

Inuyasha loved Kikyo and I think it's unfair to think he should stop loving her.
She is his late-fiance.
And Kikyo loved Inuyasha, and it was that same love which allowed for Kagome to meet Inuyasha. Kikyo's wish to see Inuyasha one more time is the catalyst of the series.
Kikyo was reborn into Kagome, a normal woman in a peaceful time, and from there, it's Kagome's turn to live.
Hating any of these two women doesn't make any sense.
