Hakudoshi and Entei but oh no! I can't draw horses seriously! Also I hate Hakudoshi and I'll never pass up the opportunity to bully him, he's such a brat.

Sunrise really tried to make InuK!k look better by giving them all that screentime and "romance" with the chemistry of a wet blanket, but they really made them look so much worse cuz you're telling me they knew each other for a year and couldn't believe the other might not want them dead, but InuKag knew each other a day before protecting each other with their lives?

very interesting how this was supposed to be an attempt at manipulation from naraku that worked wonders, but saint hakushin's situation directly mirrored kikyo's. she fully empathized with his feelings and told him textually she tried to also live without doubt, to make no mistakes, to not cling to life and be "above" such things. having been in his shoes very recently since she was brought back, she tells him there's no shame in crying over wanting to live.
now, we had naraku use such candid words to tell hakushin he was revered but not thought of, not cared for, that he didn't allow himself "any doubt". he goes as far as to tell hakushin he wanted to live. to come along with him and live. "live along with me" (lol, ever think maybe he could've told kikyo this—).
FURTHER MORE...! it was quite obvious, that naraku and kikyo are each other's utmost opposite, but it's also so fascinating that naraku made use of hakushin and manipulated him at his most vulnerable moment, while it was kikyo that granted him understanding, clarity, and set his soul free.
in the databook, naraku and kikyo are the only two characters whose map of souls - the souls that compose the shikon jewel, aramitama, nigimitama, kushimitama and sakimitama - is full. they embody all these sentiments that compose the jewel, both good and bad, but both chose to utilize this potential for totally different quests.
in the end naraku clung to remaining miserable and making others miserable (so his shikon map just remained malignant) and kikyo used her tremendous soul strength for fighting off evil and protecting life, at the expense of herself. two very strong wills/spirits that directly opposed one another in actions and thoughts.

Just for the record.
THIS IS A EARLY MANGA SESSHŌMARU'S BABY FACE STAN ACCOUNT

LOOK AT THIS CUTE EVIL PRINCESS, PLEASE 😱

Can't understand why people don't get the appeal. I absolutely adore the stark contrast between his delicate features and his sheer power. I mean, his very first action in the manga (chapter 12) is to chop off a big man's head like it's nothing with that slender, nice hand of his. It's so unexpected! And that's not all, is there also something else, other charming, mysterious contrasts, between cute appearance and cruel heart for instance, or between childlike looks and ancient essence (which you can tell apart by that sort of boredom for the world and its inhabitants he normally carries with himself.) Please stop me NOW or I'll go on forever with this.
#he had a baby face#both inuyasha and Sesshomaru looked more feminine at first#ik it was Rumiko’s art style change BUT#female Inuyasha and Sesshomaru rule supreme

LETS FUCKING GOOOO
The Coming of Spring. Light Me A Lantern Series.
Rating: G Pairing: Inuyasha/Kagome Summary: Nearly a year after the war's end, Kagome struggles with feeling... well, anything. Frustration in her own inability to move on from things she ought to have just gotten over by now finally boils over in a tense evening spent sheltering from the rain with her husband.
Excerpt:
The first wayward sparks didn’t catch the kindling, but sent a flash of orange light across his face, gone in an instant. “Why didn’t you say anything?” he asked tersely. “About what?” Kagome asked. “That you knew a storm was coming,” he said, striking the flint again and again, the first embers just beginning to take. He blew on them, coaxing them to life. “That you were in pain.” Kagome scoffed miserably. “It wouldn’t have stopped either.” As the first fledgling flames began to grow, Inuyasha glowered at his wife. “Kagome-” “Please, can we just-” Kagome choked off, pressing the heels of her palms over her eyes. “Can we not do this now?”
Light Me A Lantern? In 2025? It's more likely than you think.
This is actually something that I had started writing last year for the ten year anniversary of starting Light Me A Lantern. However, real life grief have made it difficult, and before I knew it, the anniversary came and went. I have always wanted to put down how Kagome might deal with her own trauma from the end of Light Me A Lantern. Somewhat out of the blue, it just felt like the right time.

The older I get, the more I realize I can't handle angsty post-canon fics. Like man, they already fought tooth and nail for their happiness, just let them have it.
