the end

my makeup is quite clean,

the house matching,

but my heart

thumps anyway.

the ink dried a bit ago.

i didn’t know how quick

every bit of me

would disappear.

“did you hear

the end?”

my sight begins

preparation

for it all.

i can feel foam

cake my chin,

but it’s touch

has become foreign.

the sirens no longer

race my heart,

i finish.

yet still,

i don’t know

the end.
