things i learned so far, while reading and re-reading the runaways comics for these daily posts:

any (comic canon based) fic that doesn’t have nico&gert friendship is fake, go sit in a corner and think about your life choices

vol. 3 really is a M E S S. the creative team changed for the last arc, and it shows, but it just made it messier in a different way. no wonder that most of it got retconned by later issues.

the last arc of vol. 2 that whedon wrote technically isn’t a mess, and fits into BKV’s run much better, i just dislike literally every choice he makes in it. (how do you make time travel this joyless???? don’t even let me start on the specifics…)

controversial opinion time:

the parents Had A Point, even if their actions were Very Bad

comic Alex might be bad, but he’s also symphatetic

“only supervillains try to change the world” is a bad line actually

gert is right to question spiderman’s “with great power comes great responsibility” motto, but what she ends up saying about it doesn’t make much sense

apparently there was a popular headcanon during the OG run that nico was straight. i, personally, find that a reach, given what’s in the text, but there can be some wild interpretations out there i guess. (i get it, i too spend my time practically sniffing my platonic friend’s clothes when they’re away, and literally say out loud regularly how i’m confused about my sexuality, as any undeniably straight person would.)

i respect all canon ships, except romantic chase/nico. they in fact have no rights and are entirely made of bad coping mechanisms (as opposed to nico/victor, who are only 75% bad coping mechanisms)

OG run chase gets so Edgy sometimes, dear lord, i for one welcome his Problematic Dad evolution form

it’s high time to bring back xavin, at least for an arc to have a real resolution on their story (idk if there’s any mention about them in other marvel comics, i don’t read the other comics lmao)

how much royalties does karolina make from her parents’ movies and is it enough to refer everyone to a therapist?
