I redesigned one of my TTRPG characters after a year in the campaign!

Old design below, and some comments on it too ‐>

The character is part of a religious order centered around justice, whose members wear mostly white/grey. He's a freshly graduated alchemist. As an overachieving, quiet-ish middle child, he struggles with his family's expectations, as his father, a dwarf, is a famous alchemist, judge and priest, while his mother, an elf, is the high priestess of the order's local chapter.

I mostly removed the frills from his outfit to reflect the more understated fashion of the order. Creating a more fitted shilouette, and depicting the fabric heavier and less flimsy, also kinda helped putting it all together. He spent a lot of time studying things that could explode in your face after all- you wouldn't want too luch lose fabric hanging off of you. I hated his boots, they ended at such an awkward point, so I gave him sturdier leather boots that rise further up.

Also I mixed warm metals (copper of the belt/buttons) and cold metals (silver) in the details because it both adds some dimension and also makes it look more like "these clothes adhere to my order" rather than "this is my order's uniform". The green hairtie expresses some individuality, as it references the green of his eyes, and hair is culturally important to both elves and dwarves, so it is the most "accepted" expression of self.

By the way, he wears his pants on his waist because he is hilariously short for being built like an elf and he thinks it makes him look taller lmao I love him so much.

Also yes they named their son after an element and his second name is in fact "justice". His parents are truly the most justice of all time
