deep stuff idk
I don't know what it means to love someone. I've never done it before. But I know that I desire your love. I know that there's nothing I'd love more.

Grey
The Villain stood facing the window in his throne room, transfixed by the moving figure on the other side of it.
"What do you think he has in store for us this time?" he questioned his butler.
"I do not know my lord, I think it best to be prepared for anything" replied the butler.
The Villain sighed, as if the last bit of happiness has finally departed from his body.
He knew what he was doing wasn't exactly the smartest course of action. Unfortunately, he had no power to change the past. He had dug his grave, and now he had to lie in it. Maybe soon he would mean that literally.
A loud bang pierced though the air, snapping him back to reality. The door had been completely knocked, now laying on the floor like discarded clothes. An armour clad man ran into the room.
"Stop right there you demon! You and the rest of this castle must surrender to my army, unless you want me to force you to. Cease your evil!"
The knight stepped forward, tossing his helmet onto the floor. His bright blond hair fell gracefully, almost in slow motion, as he continued moving. His usually soft blue eyes were now icy as he glared righteously at the man in front of him.
"It seems you have pleasantly surprised me Hero. I would have imagined you would take twice as long to get here. Well I suppose it's always good to be early" the Villain drawled sarcastically. But even when using his wittiest remarks, he could not muster enough emotion in his voice.
"Hold your tongue! You have committed atrocities against the people of our kingdom, and for that you will face the death sentence. I told you, I would not rest until I put an end to your wrongdoings" the Hero spat with hate. The knight's body shook with fury as he spoke, his rationality slowly dissipating with each second.
The Villain pursed his lips, looking as if he were only vaguely displeased. However, only he knew the sorrow and despair that filled his heart.
"My Lord! You must stand back and let me-", the Villain's neck whipped to the left, widening his eyes at his poor butler. Understanding his master's thoughts, the butler closed his mouth.
"Go to the rest of the servants, ensure that they are safe" ordered the Villain. The elderly butler nodded before making his way out of the dark throne room, his pace as fast as he could make it. The knight's eyes narrowed as he witnessed this scene.
"Stop with all of this", his voice softening slightly. "I can make this easy for you, as long as you surrender. We need not get violent, and then maybe your death won't be necessary."
The Villain clenched his black robes with his fist, his face now unreadable.
"It's funny you know, what you're doing - what you think you're doing. You must think once you thwart me, this kingdom will be free of all of its evil. If only you knew sweet Hero, if only you knew..."
" I will not be subjected to your twisted little mind games Villain"
"Mind games? You do not even think to heed my words of warning? Why exactly do you think of me as evil? What exactly have I done?" The villain asked sharply.
"Do not boldly question me in that tone! I know of your actions. I am aware of what you have done to this kingdom, what you have done to its people. I am confident that if I do not take this opportunity to strike you down, your reign of terror may never end," the Hero screamed, his voice thick with emotion.
"You are naïve. You believe the world is all black and white, You cannot even begin to comprehend the idea that there is more to the eye-"
"More to the eye! No. My eyes see all there is to see. In fact, my vision has never been clearer. I see you. Finally, I see you. For all that you really are, with all your demons and darkness. Never shall I be blinded by you again. Never shall I be tricked by my heart again. This time, I will do what needs to be done. I will atone for my mistakes and bring relief to the people."
"No," the Villain whispered, sounding desperate. "You cannot do this. You will not do this. I know you. I know that there is no evil in your heart, and that you are incapable of true hatred. I know that you-"
"Perhaps you are correct about the former. Because killing you would be good, not evil. As for the latter, it seems you do not know me enough for that to be your answer."
And with that, the Hero did what any hero would do. He charged, sword in hand.
In that split second, the Villain felt his heart shatter like already cracked glass taking its last hit. He did not even attempt to move. He knew that even if he were to somehow survive, it was futile. The Hero was ready to kill him. And so, he closed his eyes and surrendered himself. anticipating what would come next.
The tip of the sword ripped through the Villain's chest, sliding out the other side. The Hero had thrust the sword through with every ounce of strength his body possessed. His rage had captained his body, doing what he once thought he could not. He had killed him. He had killed the monster
No
No
No
He had killed him. He was gone. The Villain was gone. His Villain was gone.
Agony, misery and grief flooded him instantly. The body lay on the floor, rivers of blood slowly flowing out. The large abundance scarlet liquid soaked the black robes, yet it was still not enough to dye them. Of course not. Nothing could change all that was dark in the world. Nothing could change him. This was the right thing to do, he reminded himself. All of this was completely necessary. Completely necessary. Absolutely necessary. He had freed them. There was no need for remorse. So why was the exact thing that had gripped his heart and wouldn't let go? Why was it that his lungs weren't letting him breathe? Why was it that his brain was forcing his thought to be containing only him?
***
An hour before the knight had arrived
The Villain sat on his throne, clutching his head in his hands, looking forlorn. His head throbbed as he thought of what was to happen soon. He could not believe it. He could not believe what they had done. What they had said. What they were going to do.
He knew his Hero would ride in, glaring at him with those beautiful big eyes of his, and stop him from what evil he was about to commit. Or at least the evil the Hero thought he would commit.
The Villain had seen what they had done to him. How they had done it to him. Poisoned his thoughts and welded him into the weapon he had become today. They had stolen him away, and in doing so, stolen the Villain's only source of happiness. Since then, he had devoted his life to saving the only man he had ever loved. But all his efforts had been for naught. He was so pathetic that he could not even protect his lover from all who wanted to harm him.
The kingdom's royal family had always hated him. For his blood, for who he was, and for who he saw them to be. He had been hunted since the day of his birth. His butler and other servants had run across the kingdom after his parents' "unfortunate" death, before finally settling near the border, in the cold barren lands that hope and happiness had sworn never to visit again.
The royal family were tyrants. They controlled the people of the kingdom as if they were marionettes. They saw their subjects as slaves, like they were next to nothing. They showed no mercy, no kindness and hated anything that could be a threat to them . That was why his parents had died. And why the Villain had to die. His parents had used their power to stand up to those tyrants. They had tried to free the people from the royal family's grasp. But to no avail. All they had done was leave their infant child an orphan.
As if that wasn't enough. They had to take the love of his life. The man who had stumbled across his castle through his travels as a teenager. The man who he had once held in his arms, his heart full and his life full of purpose. The man who now sought to see his cold corpse.
He just hoped he could get through to him, and then they could face the royals together, before living their happily ever after. He just had to get the Hero to understand that the world wasn't just in black and white. Sometimes it was in grey.
