It seems that as the focus of the story shifted away from Zero and onto Yuki, he grew out of his habit of eating non-food items. As I have no more material for this blog, (as of now, I may rematch the anime and draw something from there) I leave you with a parting gift. I call this particular panel shock-faced Zero:
I cannot remember which night this is from, but I do recall the context. Yuki and Zero were having a conversation, and she asked him if it would be so bad if she was turned into a vampire (this was when Yuki was still human). The above panel came before his response.
