Bio

Athens, GA post-punk band Feather Trade has completed tracking their first record with (Pixies / Frank Black and The Catholics) Producer Matt Yelton. After meeting producer Gareth Jones (Depeche Mode / Interpol / Einstürzende Neubauten) at one of their shows, both stressed the band’s similarities to bands of Manchester UK, in critical politik and lyrical content. Finding home with bands who speak of working class struggle in the era of commodification of art, Feather Trade are now taking their first UK dates in support of upcoming album material with allies in a scene for which they have fallen.

​Created or destroyed by crucial influence, each person’s world is a lifetime searching for meaning and reconstruction. The creature pushes through the strata, Anger, Grief, Fear, Shame, Loss  - fueling the desire for absolution and certainty. Some find it in religion. Some find it in drugs. Some find it in sex. Feather Trade brought the flames to one another. The creature screams in the darkness, the echoes giving black shape in sound. A fight with cancer. Watching a loved one’s descent into schizophrenia. Losing it all to fire. The unceasing appetence to seal the fissures of three broken worlds.

​This band is like seeing Bauhaus playing a Pixies cover set. Total energy, total darkness, total volume. Catch them in their Manchester Residency March 2018.
