My friend @hurricanehetty purchased the lamp on Sunday and got the backstory from the seller. I’m not going to provide all of the details because the seller was genuinely scared of the lamp - and has been since childhood. I’ve tagged my friend because she has a better sense of what the seller is comfortable with saying publicly and can answer any questions. Also, while she enjoyed the journey of purchasing the lamp, meeting the seller and hearing his story, she does not actually want the lamp - so, if you do, she’s the one to contact. ... The lamp comes from a home where an eleven year old boy dies as the result of a tragic accident in 1890. There is some documentation of sightings of the ghost of this child. The seller lived in the town and had occasion to be in the house and saw this lamp many times. He said he felt like someone was watching him whenever he saw it. ... As an adult, he ran a funeral home in another town. When he first moved in, he found the lamp in one of the rooms. He said his heart sank when he saw it. He discovered that the lamp had come from another funeral home in which there were two suicides - one of the owners of the funeral home and, in another incident, a guest of the family who owned the home. When the lamp came into his possession, he witnessed it turning on and off on its own and would find that it had moved during the night. He finally put it in the basement. So, yes, my friend went into the basement of a funeral home to purchase a cursed lamp on the week of Halloween. She’s a fucking badass. ... My friend said the seller was clearly freaked out by the lamp. He didn’t want to be in the same room as the lamp and, while he did want to sell it, asked her several times if she really wanted to buy it. ... So...that’s the story.
