We must all begin utilizing our social media accounts or social networking accounts in a more safer manner since, as our world and technology expand and improve, those with bad minds and wicked intentions do the same.

╰┈➤ Social media has the capacity to affect people's lives—but most of the time, these changes are negative. Facebook, the most popular social networking site, is used by over 2 billion people worldwide to acquire news, contact with family, and reconnect with old acquaintances.
╰┈➤ It's easy to believe that such a widely utilized platform (and such a successful sector) would be inherently safe to use, but the fact is that social media has considerable harmful potential. And if we don't all learn how to use it appropriately soon, the ramifications for our lives – and society as a whole - might be disastrous.

1. Turn off notifications.
✎ Most of the time, we feel compelled to check in on social media as a result of an external stimulus, such as your phone ringing when you receive a Facebook notice. Turning off such alerts can minimize the amount of reminders that drive a reaction and, ideally, break your habit of checking in on a regular basis.
2. Keep the amount of platforms you utilize to a minimum.
✎ Though the direct relationship has yet to be established, there is a link between maintaining several social media sites and greater levels of stress and anxiety. Limiting the amount of platforms you use can help you save time and offer you less excuses to check in throughout the day.
3. Keep track of how much time you spend on each task (and limit it).
✎ It may be difficult to restrict the amount of time you spend on social media, so the first step is to start documenting how much time you spend and how you spend it. With this information, you may determine the underlying reasons of your behaviour and attempt to modify it. Set a rigorous time restriction for yourself, such as 30 minutes every day or three check-ins per day.
4. Take note of the caliber of your internet encounters.
✎Not all social media use is detrimental. Take note of how you feel following each engagement, such as receiving a message or reading a headline. If you experience bad emotions, consider unfollowing, muting, or blocking the person who triggered them, or changing your behaviors to avoid them in the future.
5. Make an effort to engage in a variety of offline contacts.
✎Finally, don't allow social media dominate your social connections. Regardless of how simple it is to communicate over a digital platform, your greatest, healthiest, and most gratifying conversations are generally those you have in person.
Social media, like any other technology, is a neutral tool that may be utilized efficiently as well as exploited. The issue is that far too many individuals are utilizing these technologies recklessly. It's past time for us all to learn how to use these platforms in a more healthy manner.

“A gadget is a little instrument or equipment with a specific function and purpose.” Gadgets are more distinctive or well-designed than standard technology.” We aim to maximize our tasks in today's world, and the most convenient instrument to utilize is a gadget.
Before we jump into the main subject, here's a little trivia for you! Did you know? Gadgets were first used in the 18th century. And the first ever electronic device ever invented is the relay, a remote switch controlled by electricity that was invented in 1835 by Joseph Henry, an American scientist, although it is also claimed that the English inventor Edward Davy "certainly invented the electric relay" in his electric telegraph c. 1835.
In our generation, technology is continuing to develop and improve as time passes by. As well as the gadgets we use and hold in our daily lives. We have a wider range and choices to choose from and initially, for me, I prefer to use my mobile phone and my laptop. I can't choose between the two because I always go back and forth in using tis two. Here's a brief explanation on why I prefer using them.

✁・I prefer to use smartphones because they are rapidly gaining market share. People use their smartphones for everything, from communication to social media involvement, photos, shopping, and everything other technology-related. And now, in the midst of the pandemic, it has become a necessity for learning. It is also small and very convenient because you can use and bring it everywhere you go. Reasons why I love my phone is because we all want to be noticed and recognized, and our smartphones can help us achieve that goal. Your brain receives a small dopamine reward when someone 'likes' or comments on your post, photograph, or update. And this is good for your brain. It also makes your brain need more of those small doses of dopamine.

✁・Laptop. It is one of my favorite gadgets due to the fact that this gadget is also very convenient but it depends on the size and weight of the laptop that you own. It's like a smartphone but with a bigger screen and keyboard. It can also hold heavy files, apps, and workloads etc. that a smartphone can't. It is also very useful in this pandemic because we are more on videos output wherein we have to edit and a laptop is a big help. I actually can't wait to go out and work with my laptop in a café.

↳ Do you ever wonder how the media evolved through these years? Like how is the communication process, and what types of media are there? Especially on why is media and information literacy important in this generation. Well, if you don't have a clue, it's a blessing in disguise that you were able to stumble upon this blog. Dig in more and widen your knowledge about media and information literacy.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/fc75b43216ed235accf1f25674ee4a7f/fb0ef3a3132a76ef-36/s540x810/fa4d1ce494cdd33546fe00a84f133aadc7f06e27.jpg)
Before we discuss media and information literacy, let us define media, information, and literacy. We will also discuss the communication process, concepts in the Shannon Weaver Model, feedback mechanisms, and the various types of media.
↳❝ Media ❞
Communication channels through which we disseminate news, music, movies, education, promotional messages, and other data. It includes physical and online newspapers and magazines, television, radio, billboards, telephone, the Internet, fax, and billboards.
It describes the various ways through which we communicate in society. Because it refers to all means of communication, everything ranging from a telephone term media, which is the plural of medium, refers to the phone call to the evening news on television can be called media.
↳ ❝Information❞
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/f0666b170ba8087b3c2fe982963468af/fb0ef3a3132a76ef-1e/s540x810/24e6c78311dbde39856e20d0c21a885d613f2d53.jpg)
It is the knowledge that has been communicated or received about facts or circumstances. It is obtained through study, research, instruction, and other forms of communication. It is also a preferred weapon. Weapons necessitate mastery, and information necessarily requires literacy in both the internet and entertainment by which the information is communicated.
↳ ❝Literacy❞
Literacy is popularly understood as an ability to read and write in at least one method of writing, an understanding reflected by mainstream dictionaries. In this view, illiteracy would be considered to be the inability to read and write.
When one person or group wishes to convey a message to another person or group, the communication process begins.
The encoder role is assigned after the interaction source has been determined. The encoder will convert a concept that the source wishes to send into a format that will be understood by the audience.
The message is the information that is being communicated from the transmitter to the receiver. Whether or not the message has a substance does not really matter what matters are that a message is transmitted.
The channel is a means to transmit the message from the transmitter to the receiver. For a message to be transmitted, a proper means of transmission must be selected. It is a route that the message takes to reach the receiver. This route can be verbal, written, electronic, audio ,video etc.
Noise enters the picture as the message travels through a channel. This noise is interference or distortion that can cause the message being sent by the transmitter or sender to be incorrectly constructed. Noise can be physical, semantic, pragmatic, or rhetorical in nature.
Before the message reaches its intended recipient, it must be decoded into a format that the recipient understands. This is the opposite side of the sequence, where the transmitter encodes the concept that he or she wishes to transmit.
The receiver is the person who receives the message that was sent out by the transmitter or sender. When the receiver informs the transmitter that he or she has received a message, this is referred to as feedback.

꒰Feedback Mechanism꒱
Feedback is the response of the receiver or audience to the messages or information of the sender. It is important because it helps produce understanding between senders and receivers. If your readers or listeners nodded in agreement, then that is your clue or signal that they understood what you said. If their eyebrows meet or react to show that they disagree with what you said, those actions are feedback.

꒰Different Types of Media꒱

1. Broadcasting Media

╰➤ So, WHY is it important?
It empowers citizens with the capacity and skills to participate effectively and responsibly in media and information systems. This enables people to become active and critical citizens who can participate in civic life and democracy.
Understanding how consumers look to the media as a source of information when making purchasing decisions is very important for marketers to optimize media selection decisions and achieve maximum communication effects.
It can help people, especially kids in this generation to learn how to use examples to support their views. They can then make their own decisions about the information based on their existing knowledge. Media literacy helps children learn to determine if something is credible.
❗❗ ❝ Life tip: Become a smart consumer of products, of your own time and information that you may gain. Spend more time in your real life with your loved ones, rather than in your virtual life with fake ones. ❞
