We are a system (OSDD-1A possibly) and we call ourselves the Petri Dish. We're dealing with multiple chronic physical health and mental health issues (including CFS/ME, fibromyalgia, gastroparesis, eating disorders: anorexia and orthorexia, anxiety, CPTSD, and more). This is a safe place to vent, get support and advice, try to sort out my thoughts/feelings, and so forth. We're here to support others in the community also. Ask box is always open. Message if you need someone to talk to, even if you think what you have to say is stupid. We love listening to people talk about their life and worries (and also giving advice if asked). Plus I'm just bored most of the time because I'm stuck on the couch, so new friends are welcomed! Just a side note: The body is 35 years old, so it's older than most of the people on tumblr, though we have alters at a wide variety of ages.

Hi everyone! This was just shared with me, and I thought others might want to use it. It’s a pretty cool idea. You register and then it donates to charity every time you open a new tab, so something pretty much everyone is already doing, basically. I believe it works with chrome, firefox, and maybe safari (it was a symbol I don’t recognize, so I’m guessing).

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:
THE NAZI SWASTIKA AND THE HINDU SWASTIKA ARE NOT THE SAME THING.
The Hindu swastika, which is actually in my house, represents good fortune and happiness, and was used long before Hitler stepped foot on this planet. Also, it is normally straight, and has dots in between.
The Nazi swastika, which obviously represents hatred of Jews, is normally on an angle, and has no dots in between.
DO NOT MIX IT UP, OR CALL AN INDIAN WHO HAS THIS IN THEIR HOME A NAZI.
IT IS NOT THE SAME THING.

Disability Accessibility Survey
Hey everyone! I'm posting this on behalf of someone in a Discord server I'm in as they're not in here to post it themselves. I feel like it's a really important project for helping improve disability rights and accessibility, and I'm hoping to help them get the information that they need for it. Please consider helping them out.
This is the information from her:
My name is Phani and im a third year undergraduate student studying in Wales. For my final year project i have decided to research how are rescue agencies and organizations taking into consideration people with disabilities during storms and floods. I would really appreciate it if you took a few minutes to complete my survey, it would mean the world to me. Thank you everyone and more details can be found in the description of my survey Click here to go to the survey.

Wouldn't you rather be healthy than fat? I don't mean this in an offensive way or anything, it's just that it's clinically proven by numerous sources that being over or under weight has detrimental effects on your health. Surely you should focus on being proud about health, and not being fat, just like most underweight people (myself included) try to gain weight to be healthy, even though society frowns upon this? Idk, just feel like it should be health oriented.
I hate to burst your bubble but you can’t choose to be healthy. It’s not something in your control.
I feel like you are one of the ppl who think this way. I think most of us do to some extent, and blame ourselves for our health problems even though they are like 95% out of our hands.
I don’t think we should be proud of things we don’t choose for ourselves or that are thrust on us.
As a chronically ill person, I really dislike healthism, which is what your ask is displaying. I don’t think I am less of a person or should be less proud of myself because my genetics and social determinants of health made me ill in my early 30s, with a disease I’ll never recover from.
And I don’t think you really think that either, you’re just not considering all the implications of what you’re saying.
I could say the normal things like “healthy and fat are not mutually exclusive”, which is true. Or “there’s no safe way to take a fat person and make them thin”, or “the studies that tie being fat to health issues are overwhelmingly flawed”, but I’ve said all that before.
So instead:
It’s ok to be unhealthy. It’s ok to just live your life without obsessing over something that you can’t really control. Everyone is going to get sick and everyone is going to die.
It’s ok to just live for now while you can.

And they should be treated like serious problems, because mental illnesses won’t just “go away” without proper help.
