Started reading the Apothecary Diaries and this is so funny to me bc Jinshi wasn't trying to fall in love with Maomao in fact he didn't even really trust her at first. He just wanted to charm her to keep her under his thumb more easily. couldn't have given two shits about her probably tbh

but then bc he's a FREAK and bc Maomao can see right through his ass and doesn't fall for his shit he's like damn i gotta get me some of DAT and ends up falling for a girl who's as big of a freak as he is and who he has to look after like a naughty house cat bc she loves poisoning herself so he has to watch what she puts in her mouth

i used to fuss about how i don't have the time and energy to milk out drawings to post from myself... it took me 3 months............ but once i did i genuinely cannot draw........ like i kept redrawing the same stroke because i absolutely do not have inspiration.... these were the results..........

Unlike other otome, Rosa (Tears of Themis) is just written very raw and real to me overall, and very differently.

Other otome I've played, the MC is very timid, or tsundere, maybe a bit insecure, and is so vague and blank-slate that it actually almost makes me wonder why these LI's have any interest in her (but that's just me). The focus tends to be so much on doting on MC that it makes me wonder at times what and when she'll ever show them care, too.

Meanwhile, Rosa prioritizes her lovers, and their needs. She's so apt to say "You had a long day, let me take care of you!" when she has a long day too, but it doesn't matter, she has a helping heart.

She doesn't back down, but she knows when to take a step back. She's balanced. Doesn't take no for an answer, but isn't so reckless that it feels irrational.

She's forward when need be (sometimes very forward), but she has her own boundaries. (Like how she doesn't drink).

She has her own goals, aspirations, and quirks, and she has her own flaws and fears.

She's a woman who knows what she wants and will do what she has to do to get it, but she does it with tact and grace, and Idk probably my favorite female character of all time lately.
