Teshima Gallery I  Sanaa  I  TESHIMA  I   Water &  observation
Water: observation
There are two lower ground inside the gallery and actually collect the water drop from the underground pipe. A special technique use on the surface of the floor and help the water drop maintain a perfect round, crystal-like drop. People are sitting there and observation the small drop coms out and mix the other and become larger hence to form a “lake”. When the “lake” were heavy enough and began to flush, they will flow into the “sea” in the lower ground. Sometime they will flow back into the ground when the water meet the hold on their way to the sea.
Rain water: observation and tranquility
There were two round openings at the top of the gallery, the rain water came straight through the interior and reach the lower ground as well as the light. The gentle rain keep going and motivate the soft light in the cloudy day.

Rain water in Nezu Museum falls from the roof, crosses the overhang and drops down to the ground, forming an picture with the green garden when standing inside and looking through.
Rain water in Kanagawa Institute of Technology workshop falls from the slightly slope roof and cross the curtain wall( there is no overhang, gutter and driven pipe), the water actually “blurs” the green reflection in the curtain which makes by the outside greenery.

Kyoto National Museum  I   Yoshio Taniguchi   I  KYOTO  I  Water & Boundary
Water: creates gap and disappears the boundary of the columns and the ground.
The whole building feel like standing above the water and it makes the whole construction feel light, dynamic (when the reflection was vibrate cause by the wind)  and moveable.

“Out of a desire to respect both the sublime works to be displayed and the natural setting, I made it my goal in designing the new Gallery of Horyuji Treasures to create on the site an environment of a kind that has become all too rare in present-day Tokyo, that is, an environment characterized by tranquility, order and dignity.”

Garden of fine art  I  Tadao Ando  I  KYOTO  I  Water & Layer
Surrounding by the water
Water: the fall and the sound of the water actually layering the whole gallery
On the entrance, where there is no fall of the water, feel quite and create a still feeling for the fine art work “water Lilies: morning” where it laid down in the water.
When go one step down the gallery, water fall down to a certain high, sound are created and creative an joyful atmosphere for the fine art work “On the Terrace” where the collection fix in the middle of the stone walls which were stand in the water.
Slightly going down and reach the lower part of the gallery, where there was a great fall of the water. The great sound of the water created a majestic feeling for the religious painting “Last judgement”.
Where they’ve got flat road to maintain the still, slope to enlarge the feeling of the sound volume and platform to narrow the great sound feeling.
