spock who gets stranded on Delta Vega and FORCED TO WATCH HIS PLANET GET DESTROYED. BY HIS INVENTION. a planet that assumedly he believes is his Vulcan. stranded on an ice planet destined to freeze to death. alone.

spock, who, by some sort of strange luck, sees jim kirk again. except it’s not luck, he knows that whenever he is in trouble, james t. kirk will find him. when hope is gone, when the last vestige of optimism dwindles, there he is. “James T. Kirk. How did you find me?” reunited at last . Except it’s not him - it’s not his kirk. His eyes are not warm brown but bright, blinding blue. This jim kirk is missing the softness, the warmth of his jim kirk. This jim kirk is so much younger and somehow that makes it all the more tragic.

spock who has to watch as this younger version of himself and jim kirk navigate onto their own journey, forever in orbit around each other, while he remains, a lost planet drifting through a universe that isn’t even his.

spock who is still alone, now in a universe that is not his universe, in a home that is not his home, rebuilding a Vulcan that is not his Vulcan.

spock, who spent the rest of his life alone, in a world that was his but not quite his, haunted yet comforted by the ghosts in the photo that crossed over with him.

spock who deemed his time aboard the uss enterprise so vital to who he was a person to leave that photo to the spock of this universe- as a reminder, as an prophecy, as a promise.

spock who wakes up in a room, once again, that’s not quite his room. but it feels so familiar at this point- a Vulcan without a home, a ship without a port. A planet without a guiding star.

spock who has resigned himself to this when he feels a weight next to him on his bed.

spock whose vision is filled with softness and smiles and warm brown eyes oh so familiar to him. Hope and happiness replace resigned patience as warm hands grip his tightly.

spock, who watches the sunset with his best friend, his soulmate, his t’hy’la, his captain.

I wanna make sure this gets said cause I’ve seen some incorrect assumptions online—the “Unification” short is NOT AI!!! It’s CGI, but it’s not AI, it was made with a huge list of CGI artists.

Kirk was made by CGI-ing William Shatner’s likeness onto another actor, and Spock was portrayed by an actor in heavy makeup and prosthetics. William Shatner was strongly involved in the project and coached the Kirk actor on his mannerisms, and Leonard Nimoy’s wife was involved as well! She has an executive producer credit at the end, and I believe this means we can reasonably assume that the use of his appearance is approved by the person closest to him, and most capable of knowing what he would have wanted.

So again, “Unification” is NOT AI and it was made with the approval of Leonard Nimoy’s next of kin!!! They DID make sure to do as much as they could to confirm that Leonard Nimoy’s likeness was being used in a way he’d be okay with! Although it’s totally okay if the VFX isn’t your cup of tea, and to dislike the short for any reason you want, I just wanted to say there aren’t any notable ethical concerns like that around it, so please don’t worry about that if you’re happy about the timeline fixes and want to celebrate. There’s no AI usage and they made sure to respect Leonard Nimoy and his wishes as much as possible while showing his Spock on screen.

Also, I haven’t been able to find full confirmation of it yet, but it looks like Spock’s actor might not have had CGI used on him, or rather the CGI that was used was actually fairly light. It seems that at least the majority of Leonard Nimoy’s likeness may have been created with practical effects, which, if true, is also pretty cool to hear.

Horror ds9 au where julians changeling gets blown up but doesnt die, and just gets super injured instead. We go a bit without seeing him but in season 6-7ish he shows back up for vengeance anything he turns into is super fucked up. Like body horror style.

The station goes on complete lockdown because theres this terrifying creature that looks vaguely like dr bashir roaming the corridors trying to kill everyone and self destruct the station. Some of the main crew is stuck in ops Civil Defence style, some get stuck in the infirmary (bashir being one of them), and maybe a rarepair gets stuck together in the jefferies tubes or smth.

The experience is viscerally horrific for both bashir and odo because bashir is seeing the guy who replaced him and stole his life piloting this fucked up body horror version of his own likeness, and odo is seeing this terrible perversion of shapeshifting, and wonders if this will happen to him if he gets badly injured. (The equivalent to what odo is perceiving this as is basically like if you saw someone who got literally turned inside out or is leaking organs or smth)

Idk how it would end but yeah. The horror bug is sneaking its way into my star trek brainrot
