Who would fall in love with the other first, Eren or Historia? And at what point in the manga do you think feelings for the other would have begun to emerge?
Eren, definitely.
Mhmm, it’s interesting since it was obvious to me that Eren felt a sympathy for her when he saw her being herself, a normal girl. Not Christa Lenz “the kind goddess”, but simply Historia the girl who felt empty.
… and then he says:
THERE IS SOMETHING I LIKE ABOUT YOU NOW
I love how Eren feels nervous but at the same time he tries to cheer up Historia.
However, I think there was definitely a time when something marked Eren internally, making him question himself and at the same time beginning his more complex development, and this was because of Historia.
Starting here:
She saves Eren. She chose to be free, thus freeing herself of her father’s wishes to become titan (which Eren had not been able to) and says:
“I’M YOUR ALLY EREN”
“We are enemies of mankind…”
Definitely here you could be sure that Eren opened a place in his heart for Historia.
And well, I think I’m right. Just see for yourself
…
And maybe finally Historia’s feelings start to change too…

I have read your blog, I would like to know if only ship erehisu and rivamika by its parallels (it would be very superficial) or if there is something else? I think I can understand erehisu more but rivamika is just because they are family btw
Talking about parallels in Snk is very complicated, since these are everywhere, however you are right at some point, the parallels can be given either by family / blood relationship BUT at the same time without any relationship between characters involved (apparently). For example:
We have the direct family parallels, in these case Grisha and Zeke
And here you have a parallel between Historia and Mikasa
They are not blood related or even gave a close relationship so…so let’s take it as the parallels are given to be family or random in an equitable way.
But now to answer your question, first I would like to clarify that this is simply my humble opinion, it is not an “absolute truth” so do not come to say things that I did not, please. If you are reading this and you don’t like any ship, or like one and dislike the other, I will ask you to refrain from commenting with hate or negative things trying to fight me or any of the shippers. If you don’t like what you see, go ahead and ignore it ;)
Well, you asked me if I only liked EH and RM because of their parallels, and the answer is no and yes.In case both couples captivated me by the mutual development they had when interacting with each other (both Levi and Eren have shown to have a different treatment for both, Mikasa and Historia, respectively than with the rest, and this also influenced my ship’s decision)
and this by adding the parallels worked around them that make me wonder that there is an intention behind them since no one would waste their time working on the relationship of two characters that had no relevance to the story, right?
There are basic parallels, such as the same postures / gestures, similar panels as here
But there are also a little more worked like here
Here we can see that the past is involved, making the parallel in the context more complex and intentionally worked. This shows that the relationships of the characters are not superficial, and on the contrary, they seem to be relevant to the central plot (And in conclusion it is true, The Ackerman theme is still treated for years and years, Eren’s relationship with Historia is currently one of the most important points of the actual plot)
But here
Historia and Levi respectively save Eren and Mikasa (main members / trio EMA) and give them a lesson / phrase, which makes them evolve as characters to a more complex development, and this is thanks to their mutual interactions respectively (I don’t know about you, but I think it’s great leaving aside the ship)
You told me that you think rivamika was due to family connection, I really don’t want to change your mind here, so I will focus your main question on erehisu now.
Some of the parallels between these two are marked even before knowing each other, I will say it shortly:
Both see their mothers die in front of their eyes being just children
Both have half brothers with royal blood who seek to protect / save them, respectively.
Both of their fathers wanted them to become titans.
Both are responsible for the death of their fathers (they kill them themselves) and after that, each one assumes a huge responsibility that involves humanity. Eren becomes a titan shifter and “the hope of humanity”, Historia becomes the “Queen Behind the Walls”, and assumes one of the biggest responsibilities that a 15-year-old girl could assume, be a queen in a very dark apocalyptic world (yeah Historia is absolutely amazing)
And here more basic parallels (gestures, actitudes, etc)
With that said, come the parallels with Grisha and Dina
It’s amazing how well Isayama works in these parallel
I find these very curious…
(I think these is made on purpose but let’s stop here)
I would have liked to say more and more, put also rivamika that was in your question too, but I think I did the best I could to explain myself and tried to make this the shortest as possible.
Thanks for asking
