One of the nice things about the Resident Evil games is that you can almost ship anyone with anyone, as there is always going to be some sort of nugget of possibility between most of the characters.

 I was never really into Leon/Claire back in the day, but this playthrough of RE2:Remake has got me saying “Aw.” Maybe it is because the models for the characters both look like such fresh-faced sweeties.

Mia was raised by her parents on a ranch in Montana. She was a bit of a wild child in her teens but managed to temper her somewhat explosive disposition after a heart attack made it difficult for her father to work the ranch. Mia spent a lot of time on her family’s land and grew to love working with the animals. Her friends, while she loved them fiercely and dearly, only numbered in the single digits. She dated occasionally, but usually grew frustrated or bored with partners fairly quickly.

Shortly after Mia graduated high school, her family finally could not keep up with the ranch and were forced to sell it and move into the city. Feeling lost, Mia joined the sheriff's department looking for a new direction and purpose in life.

When Mia was tapped for the raid in Hope County, she dropped her two dogs (Poof and Bob) off with friends.

Daniel "Danny" Rook was born deaf in a hearing family which caused a lot of friction between him and his parents. He did, however, have a very strong relationship with his younger brother, Aaron, and his maternal grandfather. 

Daniel's grandfather was the first of his family to learn ASL and spent every summer with his curious young grandson. Daniel, as a result, grew up to be quite a tinkerer due to his grandfather's lifelong career as a mechanic. When Daniel turned sixteen his grandfather passed away, but not before he bought his grandson a junk car to restore.

When Daniel graduated high school he left home and worked odd jobs until he was accepted into the academy and eventually placed with a local sheriff's department. The night before Daniel left for Hope County his brother had called and asked him to be the best man at his wedding.

Ordinary Future: If Daniel had never gotten sucked into the incident in Hope County, and the bombs had never dropped, he probably would have risen through the ranks and become a Captain much like Ray Holt (Brooklyn 99).

New Dawn Future: Pulled apart by Joseph while trapped in the bunker, Daniel became lost to the persona that became known as "The Judge". The man who tried to save Hope County might still be underneath the mask somewhere if only anyone knew he needed to be saved.
