I miss when movies/shows/books existed just to tell meaningful stories.

What happened to soft, intimate love? It's so twisted and warped because of Booktok now. I miss when it was gentle and kind. The handholding and the smiles. The glances from across the room and the blushing from compliments. Bring it back; I'm begging.

Let's go back to the days of spontaneously finding a book at the library, knowing nothing about it. No standards. No trends. Just "this book looks interesting" and checking it out.

Look, I love strong female protagonists... but can we still let them be kind? Could we allow them to be girly and have soft qualities? Showing kindness and mercy doesn't mean they're weak and I think too often it's been portrayed that way.

I've been on this rollercoaster of like I WANT TO DO EVERYTHING and I FEEL UNMOTIVATED, LEAVE ME ALONE for months now.
On the bright side, I think I might finally be figuring out the things that allow me to run with my creativity and motivation again. We'll see what happens.

I think I was thrown out into the world like a parent throws their kid into the deep end of the pool and tells them that's how they learned to swim. And I can't swim.

Being in college is like "Oh yeah... I'm an adult. I can do what I want; I have freedom" and then going and watching your favorite comfort cartoon for the 918626281th time.

Sometimes I want to take my favorite book, curl up in bed, and hug it close to my chest as if I could magically be transported to that world instead.

How to tell everyone I AM A WRITER. This is my job! I have experience because I've been doing it my WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE. I do not wish to work in any other field.

Don't worry; you're not alone by any means. Every single one of these is me or was me at some point. Here's a reminder: no matter how bad things may seem, cling to hope. Something or someone will come along and send the gray skies away. You're doing awesome. And that goal you're trying to reach? Keep reaching for it.

For the ones who are burnt out from activities, school, work, and constantly feel like they're letting people down because they've reached the point where they're struggling to breathe. They know they could do so much better than this, but they no longer have a desire to receive praise; they just want the passing grade. Just need to take it one day at a time, but even when they try, it only seems to get worse.

We never talk about the gifted kid who was never "gifted" enough to be let into the special programs at school. The one who was always told they were smart, but never feel smart enough. The one who's the perfectionist, the goal achiever, the one who plans everything out and is let down when it doesn't go according to plan. To the ones who were told they would do great things and are overwhelmed by how hard it is to reach those incredibly amazing goals.

I could write a whole 5-hour presentation on why November, the Thursday of the year, is my favorite month and why it is criminally underrated.

Inspiration looks different to each writer. Everything about me is organized chaos, including my inspiration. It's like music, dresses, scenery, movies, shows, books, quotes, lyrics, friends, family, art, games, castles, moments, night, stars, sunsets...

There was a trend going around Tiktok/Instagram reels that posed the question 'why do I read?' and I think it's such a wonderful question. Why do we read? I read to escape the stress and anxiety of reality, to live in this little pocket of space with the characters and worlds I love. It's the same reason I write.
