I was watching Captain America: winter soldier and it got me thinking:
On Captain America Winter Soldier, Natasha tells Steve about the Winter Soldier. About how she encounter him and he shot her. She tells him “going after him is a dead end, trust me, I’ve tried.” What if Nat and Bucky had actually met in the past, maybe in the red room but he doesn’t remember because of the brainwashing hydra did on him. After he attacked Nat in Odessa, she recognized him and tried to find him because of their history. Later she realizes he isn’t the same person, but after CW and during IW they kept in contact.
