The Last Waltz on the Deck**
---
Tumblr media
The MP3 player was cheap, the kind sold in Seoul’s bustling Namdaemun Market, its plastic shell cracked at the corner. But to Min-jun, it was a treasure. He’d saved for weeks, skipping lunches of kimbap and milk cartons, to afford the ₩20,000 device. It wasn’t for him—it was for Hae-won, the girl who sat three rows ahead in Class 2-B at Danwon High School. The girl who hummed off-key to BOL4 songs during study hall, whose laughter rang like wind chimes in a summer storm. The girl he’d loved silently, fiercely, for 427 days.
On the morning of April 16, 2014, he slipped the player into his pocket, its headphones coiled like a promise. The ferry to Jeju Island loomed ahead, its white hull streaked with rust, smelling of salt and diesel. Students jostled around him, their uniforms crisp, voices bright with the thrill of escape. Min-jun’s palms sweat. Today, he’d finally talk to her.
---
The sea was restless, a moody gray under a sky heavy with unshed rain. Min-jun leaned against the deck railing, watching seagulls dive like scraps of paper tossed into the wind. Hae-won stood near the bow, her black hair whipping loose from its ponytail, a yellow ribbon fluttering in her hair—sunshine against the gloom. She laughed at something a classmate said, and the sound cut through the rumble of the engine, sharp and sweet.
*Now or never.*
He edged closer, the MP3 player burning a hole in his pocket. The ferry shuddered, its timbers groaning as it carved through the waves.
“H-Hae-won?” His voice cracked. She turned, her eyes widening in surprise.
“Min-jun?” She smiled, and his stomach flipped. “You’re
outside? I thought you only lived in the library.”
He flushed, the cold metal railing biting into his palms. “I, uh
brought something.” He fumbled with the player, nearly dropping it. “You mentioned liking BOL4. I downloaded their new album.”
Her smile softened, crinkling the corners of her eyes. “You remembered?”
The ferry lurched suddenly, tilting starboard. Students giggled as the deck slanted—5 degrees, then 10—their sneakers squeaking against the damp metal. A crewman barked over the PA: *“Return to your cabins! It’s just a rough turn!”*
Hae-won staggered, grabbing Min-jun’s arm to steady herself. Her fingers were warm, her nails painted chipping lavender.
“Wait,” he said, pressing the headphones to her ears. The playlist began—BOL4’s *“To My Youth”* spilled into the air, fragile and hopeful.
“Dance with me,” he blurted.
She laughed, breathless. “Here? Now?”
“Why not?” He nodded at the retreating crowd. “The crew’s busy. One song. Before we go back.”
The deck tilted further, the horizon slanting like a painting knocked askew. Around them, classmates retreated inside, their laughter fading into the growl of the sea. But Min-jun held out his hand, palm up, trembling.
Hae-won hesitated, then slipped her hand into his.
---
They swayed clumsily, sneakers scuffing the damp deck. The MP3 player sat between them, tinny music battling the wind. Hae-won’s ribbon slipped loose, fluttering toward the railing. Min-jun caught it mid-air, the silk cool against his skin.
“You’re terrible at this,” she said, but her grip tightened on his shoulder.
“Says the girl who tripped over her own feet during PE.”
She swatted him, grinning. “I was *distracted*.”
“By what?”
She looked away, her cheeks pink. “By
 someone.”
The ferry groaned, a deep, metallic scream. A lifeboat tore loose, crashing into the waves below. The music shifted—Lee Hi’s *“Breathe”*, slow and aching. Hae-won rested her head on his chest, her hair smelling of peach shampoo and salt.
“Why today, Min-jun?” she murmured. “Why now?”
He hesitated, his throat tight. “I read this poem. It said
the best time to love someone is *before* you lose them.”
The deck tilted violently—25 degrees, then 30. Screams erupted from below, sharp and primal. The world inverted.
---
Chaos.
Lockers burst open, spewing backpacks and textbooks. Students slid down corridors like discarded dolls, limbs flailing. Min-jun slammed into a wall, Hae-won’s hand ripped from his.
“Hae-won!”
“Here!” She clung to a doorframe, blood trickling from a gash on her brow, her yellow ribbon now crimson.
He crawled toward her, the floor a cliff, his palms raw. “Take this.” He shoved the MP3 player into her hands. “When they rescue us
 listen to track seven.”
“What’s on it?”
He smiled, though his ribs screamed with every breath. “My heartbeat.”
Water surged below, black and hungry.
---
They climbed higher, survivors huddled in a slanting hallway. The air reeked of sweat and seawater. A girl sobbed into her knees: “Life jackets are downstairs!”
Hae-won trembled, her uniform torn at the sleeve. “We have to go back.”
Min-jun gripped her wrist. “It’s flooded. Stay here.”
“But—”
“Promise me.” His voice broke. “Promise you’ll survive.”
She stared at him, her eyes glassy with tears. “Only if you do too.”
He kissed her—quick, desperate, tasting salt and fear. “I’ll find you.”
Then he was gone, crawling toward the stairwell, his silhouette swallowed by shadows.
---
Cold.
That’s what Hae-won remembered. Cold, and the silence after the screaming stopped.
She floated, a life jacket cutting into her ribs, the MP3 player tucked inside her sleeve. Dawn bled into the sky, staining the water pink. Rescue boats dotted the horizon, too small, too late.
*Track seven.*
She pressed the headphones to her ears. Static, then Min-jun’s voice:
*“Hae-won
if you’re hearing this, I chickened out. Again. But if we’re dancing right now
I love you. I’ve loved you since you laughed at my stupid math pun. So don’t cry, okay? Just
 breathe.”*
A sob tore from her throat, raw and guttural.
“MIN-JUN!”
But the sea swallowed her voice.
---
Ten years later, Hae-won stood at the Ansan Memorial, yellow ribbons fluttering around her like trapped butterflies. The air smelled of chrysanthemums and incense. She traced Min-jun’s name on the stone, the letters worn smooth by rain and grief.
She’d survived.
He hadn’t.
The MP3 player sat in her desk drawer, untouched. She couldn’t bear to hear his voice again, couldn’t bear the weight of his absence. But today, on the anniversary, she’d brought it—a penance, a pilgrimage.
“Miss?”
A boy approached, 17 or so, with Min-jun’s stubborn brow and a smattering of freckles. He held a waterproof bag, its edges frayed by time.
“Are you
 Hae-won?”
She froze. “Yes?”
“They found this in the salvaged ferry. Your name was inside.”
The bag contained a notebook, its pages warped but legible.
*Min-jun’s journal.*
**April 15, 2014:**
*“Track seven isn’t my heartbeat. It’s a lie. The truth is
I’m scared. Scared I’ll drown. Scared I’ll never tell her. But if I don’t make it
 let this be my confession.”*
Her hands shook as she flipped to the last entry.
**April 16, 2014:**
*“I’m going back for life jackets. If I don’t return
 Hae-won, listen to track eight.”*
---
That night, in her dimly lit apartment, she plugged in the player. The headphones hissed, a time capsule cracking open.
*Track eight.*
A new recording, his voice choked with tears:
*“I’m trapped. Water’s rising. But I need you to know
I didn’t go back for jackets. I went back for* you. *They said only 15 jackets were left. You deserved one. You deserve
everything. So live, Hae-won. Live and forget me. Please.”*
A pause, a shaky breath.
*“I wish we’d had more dances.”*
---
Hae-won planted a garden by the sea—sunflowers, Min-jun’s favorite. Their golden faces turned toward the waves, defiant against the salt-laden wind. Sometimes, on quiet evenings, she plays track seven and sways alone, her arms wrapped around ghosts.
But on windy days, when petals swirl like lost waltzes, she swears she hears him whisper:
*“One more minute.”*
And for that minute, she dances.

Merry Christmas darlings
Korean Romantic Xmas Story (part 1)
Once upon a time, in the land of South Korea, Kim Taehyung and Y/N were madly in love. It was Christmas Eve, and Taehyung had planned the most romantic surprise for Y/N.
He had decorated the entire house with twinkling lights and mistletoe, and had even baked a batch of his famous chocolate chip cookies (Y/N's favorite). Taehyung was nervous, but he couldn't wait to see the look on Y/N's face when they arrived home.
As they walked through the door, Y/N was immediately swept off her feet by the festive atmosphere. "Taehyung, this is amazing!" she exclaimed, beaming with joy.
Taehyung grinned, proud of himself for pulling off such a grand gesture. "I wanted to make this Christmas extra special for you," he said, taking Y/N's hand and leading her over to the couch. "I have a little surprise for you."
Y/N's eyes lit up with excitement as Taehyung presented her with a small velvet box. "Taehyung, what is this?" she asked, her heart racing.
Taehyung took a deep breath and got down on one knee. "Y/N, you are the love of my life and I can't imagine spending my days without you by my side. Will you be my forever and always?"
Y/N's eyes welled up with tears as she nodded, overcome with emotion. "Yes, Taehyung, I will," she said, her voice shaking with happiness.
Taehyung slipped a sparkling diamond ring on Y/N's finger and stood up, wrapping her in a warm embrace. They shared a tender kiss, surrounded by the warmth and love of the holiday season.
As they cuddled on the couch, sipping hot cocoa and listening to Christmas carols, Taehyung couldn't help but feel grateful for the amazing woman by his side. He knew that together, they would have a lifetime of love and happiness ahead of them. The end (for now)

Best friends fall in love
It was the night before Christmas and the air was filled with excitement and joy. Y/N and I were sitting by the fireplace, sipping on hot cocoa and chatting about our plans for the holidays. As I looked into her warm, brown eyes, I couldn't help but feel a surge of emotions flood through my body.
I had been in love with Y/N for as long as I could remember, but I never had the courage to tell her. I was afraid of ruining our friendship and causing any unnecessary tension between us. But as I watched her laugh and smile, I knew I couldn't keep my feelings hidden any longer.
I took a deep breath and mustered up all the courage I had. "Y/N," I said, my voice shaking slightly. "There's something I need to tell you."
She looked at me with a curious expression, her eyebrows raised in question. "What is it?" she asked.
I took another deep breath and blurted out, "I'm in love with you. I have been for a long time now, and I can't keep pretending that I don't feel this way anymore. I know this might come as a surprise to you, but I just had to tell you."
Y/N's face went pale as she listened to my confession, and for a moment, I feared the worst. But then, a slow smile spread across her face and she took my hand in hers. "Namjoon, I had no idea you felt this way," she said softly. "But I have to admit, I've had feelings for you too. I just didn't want to risk ruining our friendship."
Tears welled up in my eyes as I realized that Y/N felt the same way I did. I wrapped my arms around her and held her close, feeling an overwhelming sense of happiness wash over me.
We spent the rest of the night cuddled up by the fireplace, talking and laughing and enjoying each other's company. And as Christmas morning dawned, we knew that we had found something truly special and that our love was meant to be.
In that moment, I knew that Y/N was the one for me and that together, we would have a happily ever after.

Hello world, this is my first trying in terms of writing. I really hope you will find as cute as I did.
Christmas Chaos
Y/N was having a terrible day. She had overslept, burnt her toast, and spilled coffee all over her blouse on the way to work. And to top it all off, she had a meeting with her boss, Kim Namjoon, in just a few minutes.
She rushed into the office, trying to smooth down her frazzled hair and wipe the coffee stains off her shirt. As she walked into the conference room, she saw Namjoon sitting at the head of the table, looking as put-together and handsome as ever.
"Good morning, Y/N," Namjoon said, giving her a warm smile. "I hope you had a better start to your day than I did. My cat knocked over the Christmas tree this morning and nearly took out the entire living room."
Y/N couldn't help but laugh at the image of Namjoon chasing after his mischievous feline. "At least you have a cute cat to blame it on," she said. "My day has been a disaster from the start."
The meeting went smoothly, and Y/N was grateful that Namjoon didn't seem to notice her disheveled appearance. As they wrapped up, he asked her if she would be interested in joining him for a cup of coffee at the café down the street.
Y/N hesitated for a moment. She had always had a bit of a crush on Namjoon, but she wasn't sure if it was appropriate to socialize with her boss outside of work. But then again, it was the holiday season and she figured one cup of coffee couldn't hurt.
"Sure, that sounds great," she said, trying to sound nonchalant.
As they walked to the café, Y/N couldn't help but feel a bit nervous. She had never really been alone with Namjoon before, and she wasn't sure what to talk about.
"So, how's your holiday shopping going?" Namjoon asked, seeming to sense her discomfort.
"Oh, it's going great," Y/N lied. In reality, she had barely started her shopping and had no idea what to get for anyone on her list.
"I'm the same way," Namjoon said, laughing. "I always leave everything until the last minute. I think it's just part of the fun, don't you?"
Y/N couldn't help but relax and laugh along with Namjoon. He was so easy to talk to, and she found herself having a great time.
As they sipped their coffee and chatted about everything from work to their favorite holiday traditions, Y/N couldn't help but feel a spark between them. She couldn't believe that she was actually flirting with her boss, but she couldn't deny the attraction she felt.
Just as they were finishing their drinks, Namjoon's phone rang. He glanced at the caller ID and sighed.
"I'm sorry, Y/N, but I have to take this," he said, standing up. "It's an important client and I can't afford to ignore it. But I had a great time chatting with you. Can we do this again sometime?"
Y/N couldn't believe her ears. Was Namjoon actually asking her out on a date?
"I'd love to," she said, trying to play it cool.
"Great," Namjoon said, flashing her a smile that sent her heart racing. "I'll see you back at the office tomorrow, and we can figure out a time that works for both of us."

Living with a roommate, you try to keep from pleasuring yourself as much as you can, especially since the walls aren’t exactly soundproof. But that doesn’t mean you never do it; whenever you’re too sexually frustrated every once in a while, you wait for Jimin—your rent-sharer turned friend—to be out of the apartment before you pounce at the opportunity.
Tonight is just one of those nights.
