BREAKING: EIGHT DEAD IN BRUTAL MASSACRE AT ROTHFIELD UNIVERSITY.

ROTHFIELD, OHIO — Terror has gripped the community of Rothfield this week as a harrowing murder spree comes to an end, leaving eight dead and one in serious condition.

Elliot Martin and Ethan Thompson, the two men believed to have been responsible, died from multiple stab wounds according to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office. While Thompson is a student at Rothfield University, Martin is not; deputies confirmed that Thompson and Martin are cousins.

"We're still investigating the situation at this time. It's unclear what the motive is, and this is a very new territory for many of the men and women of the Jackson County Sheriff's Office. This sort of thing just doesn't happen here," Sheriff Bill Landon said.

Victims of Thompson and Martin include Angela Cooper, 20; Colin Kelly, 20; Will Seward, 35; Jake Warren, 18; Madison Ayers, 19; and Julia Black, 18.

Jordan Riley, 20, was hospitalized with serious injuries. She is a student at Rothfield University and works as a campus resident assistant.

that night is simultaneously a blur of blood and death and crystal clear in the horrors it still holds. I had often joked about always leaving everything out on the stage, that I would live and die by it, and elliot and ethan had taken this silly little motto of mine and ran wild. my favorite place in the world had become my death trap; I still remember the feel of the knife ghosting over my skin, a teaser to what was to come.

I would like to tell you I've moved on and that I don't wake up in a cold sweat haunted by that night. maybe one day I'll be able to.
