Exactly! They want me to take over some settlements that I built, and it's almost like the game expects me to feel bad that I'm killing nameless NPC's who have no backstory and all look the same. I have no reason to care, and it takes me out of the experience, and I start killing settlers as some sort of weird revenge for Fallout 4 being such a disappointment, only to find that they are replaced by a NEW group of nameless settlers that are supposed to be better because they are #edgy.
Hit the nail on the head. They're all nameless NPCs and I just don't care at all about em. Also just the fact that Fallout 4 has less genuine settlements with named NPCs, questlines, etc is stupid. I don't want to raid something I already own and built. It's not like your settlers build anything while you're away. It's all your hard work and they want you to pillage your own place for the sake of edgier settlers.

Re: your opinion post. Doesn't it also bother you how, instead of addressing fan complaints in patches, or maybe even with free DLC, they just shoved everything they forgot into Nuka world? We wanted to be evil, so they just make us a raider boss, even though we're forced to be a good guy in vanilla. We wanted perk specific dialogue options, so they gave us 3. We thought the assault rifle was wrong, so they just threw in an AK and called it a night. Raiders had no depth, so change the color, etc
I just hate how you don't even feel that evil with the new gangs. The raiders are just bland factions. They're too goofy to even take seriously.

My Opinion on FO4 DLC
I'd have more to post and say about Nuka World but I haven't completed it yet. It's not bad, but I've played enough to know it doesn't add anything mod authors haven't already done in one way or another. I don't know if it's my high expectations causing my disappointment but I just don't like most of the Fallout 4 DLC. Far Harbor was the only DLC where real decisions were made, while the rest of the other DLC don't put the story first at all. All of them are just pushing whatever the headline gimmick was and nothing else and it's just a bummer when they put the quest line and story secondary to these features. Oh, Automatron you can build your own robots. Wowee, awesome, what's the story behind that?! What choices will I have to make? How will this impact the Commonwealth?! The mechanist is back, out of nowhere I guess. You really don't have any unique choices. The Commonwealth doesn't actually notice anything new. Oh Vault-Tec Workshop?! (I know it's one of the hogwash Workshop DLC but there still needs to be some explanation) Oh wow my own vault?! How do I manage to pull that off. Who will help me accomplish a feat that even a pre-war construction team couldn't do in time? What diabolical experiments will I get to use?! You find a ghoul overseer. No one helps you. You just make it happen. Logic is dead in this one. Oh and your "experiments" are a workout bike that kills your dwellers 90% of the time, a soda machine that has no visual effect on your dwellers, an eye examine device that has again NO VISUAL EFFECT on your dwellers, and lastly a slot machine, which has no real effect on the attitude of your dwellers. Lastly Nuka World... From what I've seen so far and read it seems to be another shallow DLC experience. I go to the park. I got handed leadership without proving myself just like with the Minutemen. The three raider groups all have the same 3 radiant quests. They're all essentially the same people in different clothes. There's no defining traits or features or even quest lines from what I've seen. You get to decide what parts of the park and which settlements each of three gangs get which is in a sense the largest decision you get to make, but at the same time is ridiculously hollow since the Commonwealth will likely not be effected by anything you do, as always. The previous Fallout games had amazing DLCs where you always had to pick a side or had an effect on the wasteland you came from (Ex. I picked the slavers in The Pitt, I sided with Mobius in OWB, I blew up the Citadel in Broken Steel, I launched the nukes at the end of Lonesome Road), but even when the quest lines were linear the story was still engaging. You actually cared about the conflict and how to resolve it. Fallout 4's a good game. It's DLC are fine, but their relatively hollow. It's all about the flashy new game mechanic while the story is completely abandoned. Build a robot, build a vault, form a raider gang but let's not explain how or why. Fallout 3 had 5 DLC, New Vegas had 4, Fallout 4 has 1 and that's Far Harbor.

I made this as a joke. I assumed Harambe Island would have made that obvious.

➸ Antagonists of Fallout
I can certainly identify with The Villain. A Villain is someone who has a past, who is strongly opinionated, fearless, doesn’t get intimidated by anything, and went beyond suffering. It’s an empowerment figure.
