#ive been reading the AI Opportunities Action Plan they set out -im researching the guy who wrote it rn#https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/67851771f0528401055d2329/ai_opportunities_action_plan.pdf#^ if youre interested in this i would recommend reading n trying to decipher it- its far from being law but the sooner we speak up the bett#they’re gonna create a “copyright cleared” “culturally valuable” data set to license to companies for ai training made up of data from the#british library/bbc/natural history museum/national archives which seemed odd to me?? which is not needed for the uses of#ai by the gov outlined in the plan but pop off ig#“Prioritisation should consider the potential economic and social value of the data as well as public trust; national security; privacy;#ethics and data protection considerations.” <- direct quote from section 1.2 point 7 about deciding which data to make available showing#how money is the priority and anything else is an afterthought - i know that was always gonna be true but to put it so fuckin simply 😭😭#the bit on regulators is so unclear I can’t work out what it’s saying??? can’t tell whether they’re talking about ai regulators or other#regulators of every sector at any one time. “higher risk tolerance” in a “radically changed” ai regulator isn’t what we want to hear tho#lmk if my interpretations are wrong tho bcus i found it so hard to understand n i don’t wanna have said anything misleading!!#ai
