You want to call your House rep now and tell them Trump needs to be impeached immediately for defying a Supreme Court order (re: Kilmar Abrego Garcia), which functionally voids our constitution and means no one in America has rights anymore.

I am not exaggerating.

As of now, anybody can be disappeared, no due process, no recourse. Trump is openly disregarding a Supreme Court order and says he’ll send US citizens to El Salvador.

This is not a drill.

Call your House rep and tell them they must impeach. Tell them if they cannot bring themselves to impeach, they must resign. A more open and shut case to impeach is not possible. Trump and his administration are saying openly, in public, that anybody can be kidnapped by ICE, even in error, and disappeared permanently.

Call your senators, too, and tell them to support impeachment (it goes to them once it passes a majority House vote).

Spanning 12 songs and 47 minutes, the album incorporates elements of pop, electronic and indie rock, with 24-year-old Jones’ – born Alexandria Zahra Jones – vocals at the forefront. The artwork, presumably created by Jones who is also a visual artist, depicts two faces attached to the same head, attempting to split away from each other. They deceived us when they told us that there is an International Court of Justice, and they deceived us when they said that they are human beings or that they know humanity, and they deceived us when they said we are with you and will not leave you. They are developing and developing and developing everything in life in order to try to reduce the death rate and preserve the lives and safety of people, but all of this is a lie. Where is all of this in what is happening in Gaza? Why does the International Court of Justice not stop the war in Gaza? Why do they not stop Israel from committing massacres? Why do they let us die? Why do they let us starve? Why do they let us be besieged? Why do they let us leave our homeland by force? Why does this indicate? Where is their humanity? Where is the International Court of Justice that they boast about? Where is all of this about the thousands of children who were killed? Where is this about the thousands of children who were wounded? Where is this about the thousands of children who lost their families, fathers and mothers? Where are you regarding what is happening to us? Hundreds of innocent citizens die daily, hundreds are injured, and dozens of homes are destroyed. Why is all of this happening to us? Aren’t we human beings like you? Don’t we deserve to live like you? We want this? We want a normal life like everyone else. We don’t want to starve, we don’t want to be displaced, we don’t want to be besieged, and we don’t want to be killed. Show some of the humanity that you claim to have. Help us, please, help us. We don’t know how long we will live, so stand by us so that we can get out of here safely.

I just gotta throw this out there, Tumblr is the one social media website left that isn't completely miserable to use in large part because it is janky as hell, there is no algorithm, and you have no idea if you'll open up your Dash to a lovely picture of some cats or an incredibly clever fucked up joke about [insert current political thing] that would get you banned anywhere else.

That's what makes it great, but it's also what makes it unprofitable, and the mass firing of staff causing a rush on blog back-ups that seems to have crashed is Yet Another Sign that these online spaces are temporary constructs that we become reliant on when we shouldn't. And that sucks majorly, but the only way we're going to get through this is by learning to unplug from even the most well-meaning online platforms (looking at you, Bluesky) and maintaining our connections in other ways.

Make sure you know how to reach your online friends in other ways. Discord ain't good enough, frankly. Get their emails. Arrange ways to check in. Text them if you need to. With every platform shift, I've lost touch with folks I've really cared about, and finding ways to head that off is going to be important. Build those bridges while you still have the space to do so.
