Year 31 wasn’t the year I wanted or envisioned having. I think it was the year I needed to help get me to the point where I am now. Growing up running for the Fayetteville Flyers there was no short supply of great male role models around me. I had great coaches, awesome fathers, and even great male athletes who were older than me as well. There was nobody I loved more than Coach Freeman. Coach Freeman was a laid back, reserved, and businesslike man. He was always focused and pushing you to better than you were the day before. A long with those great life lessons he would joke on you at the drop of a dime, humble you by passing you on the hills, and pick you back up if you ever fell. He taught me how to run. He put us through crazy running and core exercises. He wouldn’t accept anything other than your best and if you felt like you couldn’t do something he would do it with you! Coach Freeman I wanted to let you know I passed those same life lessons you gave to me and thousands others to the next generation.
