The fact that Rose says "my Pearl" to Pearl... A lot of people wonder, "oh, she belonged to Rose". No one calls their Pearl "my Pearl", people only say that to their superiors. So there's actually a lot more going on in that scene.

the cultural object of the black hole is kind of remarkable. It's almost an anti-God in a sense, a negative infinity. Yeah there's this kind of dead sun that's collapsed into an infinitely dense point, and if you fall past its event horizon you're fucked. Every schoolchild knows this. A black hole can be introduced in a superhero blockbuster without any explanation except for its established look and the name "black hole", and this will be understood as the ultimate natural disaster, which even superman could not hope to defeat. truly S-tier cosmic object

re: this page in the blacklight edition

two options.
one, the page originally looked something like this:

and ford then added the rest of the text post-betrayal.
or two, ford, ever the drama lover, outlined that whole drawing with stars and swoopy cursive just to add on LIED TO ME!!!! which is also hilarious. going by him only mentioning invisible ink after the betrayal pages, somehow this seems to be the more plausible option
#someone liked this old post on twitter and i must point this out here as well#gravity falls#stanford pines#bill cipher#billford

I love, love, LOVE it when I can tell a fic author has integrated their specialized knowledge in a fic. I was reading a fic that at some point included the character going to visit an art therapist, and it's so clear that the author is an art therapist themself, and the details included are just immaculate and I love it. I've previously read about a character doing fencing for no other reason than the author clearly wanting to write a sport they understood. A character being given a hyperfixation on bugs just so the author can infodump themselves.
I eat it up every time, it brings such a smile to my face
#in gravity falls it is always someone making eggs or a sandwich#always eggs after a harrowing trauma and someones comforting them. stan eating sandwich on the road and ford eating bad sandwich because he#doesnt remember to buy groceries#thats it thats all the food theyve ever eaten in their life
