Review: This not your typical BL plot. The major of the story surrounds the death of a Detective’s ex-wife and her unsolved murder. Asako our main character can relive the thoughts and feelings of a murder victim when he is exposed to items and people present when the individual died. This poses a problem as he is holding on to lingering feeling from a murder victim once married to his superior, Kuroiwa. Asako quickly loses track of what feelings are Kuroiwa’s ex wife and what feelings are his own in regard to Kurowia.

Incredibly suspenseful in the romantic plot and criminal investigation. If you like Law and Order and BL you will like this. The art style is highly unique and very interesting. I enjoy the complexity of the style and the extremely stylized panels.

The spicy scenes are captivating in my opinion. More so there is a lot of sensuality add to scenes that are not exactly spicy. This adds to the suspense of romantic plot line. Asako is drawn in a more gender fluid way than the Kuroiwa. In fact, he is drawn more feminine than other characters in other work by Takahashi which is interesting. However, I do feel there is a bit of inherent awkwardness as Kuroiwa is rather blunt towards the end of the second volume. All and all I love this work but it is not for everyone

Twilight Out of Focus by Janome

Review: I am reviewing this now that there is an anime adaptation under the same name. I really like this work for its sweetness and authentic emotions. Mao, our main character, is not only adorable but relatable. His realization of his feeling for Hisashi is sweet and not trite like many BL “character that is not gay is suddenly gay” tropes. Hisashi is a delinquent but is not shown being particular badly behaved. More so he is an out cast that seemly doesn’t care he is an outcast. Additionally, it is alluded he is poor and from the country side. All the warning I wrote for this fic revolve around Hisashi misguided relationship he holds at the start of the story.

The spicy scenes are spicy but have a cuteness to them. To be honest they were a little too spicy for the tone of the story in my opinion. They are present in the anime too, just not as explicit.

The art style lends itself beautifully to the story. Its curved lines and ethereal shading are very cinematic in a way. Over all I like it work a lot, but it doesn’t translate very well to the anime to me. This is mainly due to their slight change is art style and over reliance on a slow frame rate.

The Queen and the Tailor by Scarlet Beriko

Review: This is cute and good and I love it! Classic rom com set up and perfect get together (imo). I like the age difference because it is not creepy but it is plot relevant as it is an implied small obstacle for the relationship. The younger character is more brash and less established while the older character is more warily. The art is traditional to Japanese manga and well done. There is nothing else to say really… Goes read it.

Perfect closure for the movie ending. Very faithfully the vibe of the movie. The author seemed to be well adapted for writing in this fandom as they have a few Tennis RPF fics already under their belt. Kudos sleepstxtic.

Review: I did enjoy this manwha, though it was not a scandalous as I wanted. Part of the love triangle is step brothers for Christ’s sake— this can’t be a perfectly wholesome love story about finding yourself!

The art is good but no panel really suck out to me. The “first season” of the webcomic was a page turner but I found myself struggle to get through the “second season”. Maybe my soul is tainted but I also felt the sex scenes was a bit too tame. All and all… I finished it.

Review: Sooo… The truth be told I have been avoiding reading BJ Alex for a while. There is a lot of hype around this manwha BL that makes it feel underwhelming when reading it. Unfortunately, I hated Dong-gyan and Jiwon relationship. Jiwon is a toxic asshole and I do not like the character development to “good boyfriend” he is given. On the other hand… I am obsessed with Myung-Dae and Chanwoo who are the two protagonists in the side stories. They are the couple that has the hottest (and I mean steamy scenes full of BDSM and toys including a sounding scene— if you don’t know look it up) sex scenes and best relationship dynamic. I actually believe that Myung-Dae loves Chanwoo. I wish there was more of the two side characters and less of the Dong-gyan and Jiwon. Away, the art took me a second to get behind— don’t ask me why; it good art. The feel of the either plot plus the very comic strip-esque art is on the silly side. Occasionally it gets serious. Overall is was a fine read.

Review: Definitely worth the read after reading The Pornographer (it’s prequel). This made me feel things. Additionally, even though the spicy scene is rather tame, the emotional developments proceeding made it *chefs kiss*.

Review: It’s been a long time since I did a Web comic review. This one by Gazealle is available on Lezhin. I really like the begin power dynamic between our two characters. Chan-woong is a innocent young himbo like protagonist that finds out a sexy secret able his kind but very “man in charge” boss. In the bedroom these two characters change rolls, leaving Chan-wrong in charge and Park in a more submissive roll. The spicy scenes are well drawn and flow well. However, I would get confused with some of the dialogue, especially in a spicy scene. In an attempt to make Park more submissive, I feel they missed the mark by making him too timid. All in all I will continue to read this one.
