Stan Brakhage Volume I - DESISTFILM 1954

6 minutes, 48 seconds • 16 mm • Monaural

If the music evokes an atonal “Flight of the Bumblebee”, the camera takes on the character of a flying insect, flitting over the blur of party-goers, some talking a language we can’t hear, but most silent, staring and smoking.  I immediately related this film to a kind of allusion to claustrophobia, boredom, and restlessness. We se a distressed form recreation mani, tense, and sexually frustrated.

Avery Tare & Bjorn Copeland

Avey Tare of the renowned sound innovators Animal Collective, teams up with Black Dice’s Bjorn Copeland for an sound installation and performance. Avey Tare, whose practice with Animal Collective spans ten studio albums that pushed electronic music into wholly new, kaleidoscopic territories, isn’t new to the museum context—he co-staged an environmental sonic experience inside New York’s Guggenheim Museum in 2010. Bjorn Copeland’s distorted noise-rock with Black Dice has also thrived in the art context, appearing in an installation by artist Peter Coffin at Andrew Kreps Gallery, composing tracks for painter Richard Phillips, and performing in art venues like the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit, The Andy Warhol Museum, and more.

nOpHOTo  or recording of the piece :/ but clips from Vernon answered 4 years ago el guinco's video, bombay was referenced throughout the film. Lots of yogurt and strawberries, berries, snakes waving in and out of mouths and ears accompanying the distorted noise rock.
