I just learned that the reason giant squids sometimes grab onto boats is because they are old, dying and confused.

And that just puts such a melancholic twist on our myths like the kraken.

What we view as nothing but mindless violent attacks really amount to nothing but a dying attempt of an old man begging for help. Only to be met with violence and fear in return.

I’m sure someone more poetic than me can turn it into a metaphor for dimentia or mental illness of some kind.

An unknowable abstract pain clawing at your mind, you barely understand it yourself. But you see something in front of you, and you reach put in hope that it Can help you find peace and comfort. But instead your would be saviors label you a monster. An enemy to be slain.

When this happens you’re never remembered as a victim of their thoughtlessness, as someone asking for help. Instead on the news you’re spoken about like a villain. A wrong-doer. A simple monster.

I see you giant squids, I feel you. For I’ve been there all my life as well. I hope all the people struggling like you may one day be viewed with the same love and affection.

May everyone who’s been framed as a monster and killed for it rest is peace.

I'm sorry but parkour civilization is just objectively funny. Everything is treated so seriously. There are vine booms every five seconds. Literally every setback the protagonist is hit by is solved by someone appearing and going "here's the exact thing you need," sometimes literally falling out of the sky to do so. There's multiple literal deus ex machinas. The running gag that nobody can do a backwards jump. 10/10 peak comedy
