Poll time

My last few posts I kinda did away with them, partly because I'm getting a bit worried about how public I make people's social media tags (especially if they aren't actual gainers). Simultaneously I can't post without proper credit, so it's a fine line.

I'd like to think that my followers aren't the people I've seen sending deeply intrusive and unsettling messages to real people they do not know and getting themselves blocked (if you are, it goes without saying, please Stop That). Either way, it's not something I enjoy the idea of promoting, much less making into a whimsical little game with cutesy flavour text.

The other part is I genuinely don't know if people wanna deal with my undergraduate waxing lyrical on a kink blog.

So yeah, let me know. :)

This blog has been getting quite a lot of new followers lately and I'm incredibly glad and grateful. It's lovely to see just how much of a community there is out there!

There are a few different types of blogs: some blogs, like mine, are active and dedicated towards embracing gaining kink. Others mix it up with other non-kinky content interspersed with gaining. Others are ghosts who enable privacy without the need for a public profile. If you're happy and comfortable having your kink be a visible part of your public identity, or have a system that allows you to separate it from your everyday blogging, that's fabulous, please carry on. But for everyone else,

PLEASE DO NOT FOLLOW ME OR LIKE MY POSTS FROM YOUR MAIN ACCOUNT

EVEN IF YOU HAVE PUBLIC LIKES AND FOLLOW LISTS TURNED OFF

Even if data isn't immediately available to the average blogger, it still exists. If Tumblr ever has a data leak or gets hacked, which I don't know why someone would but just in case, that information can be traced back to you and used against you if you aren't ok with it.

Also, your likes are visible both to the creator and anyone else viewing the post in question. Even though I wouldn't, and I don't think 99% of this community would, it only takes one person to use it to fuck with you. When I was still using my main account, I was followed by multiple gaining accounts/bots even though everything was private. Things make their way back to you. Fortunately they were just innocent follows but it's not a risk you should take.

Please use a separate email to register a ghost account to keep your data safe.

This also isn't infallible because of IP shenanigans but it puts more separation between you and someone trying to get your data.

In an ideal world, a kink as harmless and innocuous as gaining could not be weaponised against you. It is not, however, an ideal world. Keep yourself safe first and foremost, and keep your data safe to do so.

Plus it's way more liberating to have a whole account where I can just talk about this stuff freely and save myself the aneurysm.
