Hi, I'm Evee, and welcome to my art blog. I'm a concept artist and illustrator, with an education in sciences and linguistics. In spite of my disabilities, I still draw, garden, volunteer, and attempt sports! For more, I wrote three books, posted on my Alt-Blog: Tales of Ealden Cynedom.

It's the annual Summer Solstice Ex illlustration!
To be honest, I've been pretty sick. I did a six month sketch challenge, but am yet to post. I want to do more art, but I'm still too tiered.
These day's a do a lot of volunteering. I've let a lot of my online accounts die. I spend a lot of time taking care of my chronic illnesses.
It's fair to say, there isn't much left of me for my hobbies, at the end of each day.
A few times each year i always make sure to do a digital render of my writing Deity's for this blog. Some pieces of the old me i want back, is on this blog.
If i can't do much, at least i can keep this strange promise: spamming your dashboard with scheduled programming.

One of the reasons I joined Genshin Impact, was of coarse the character designs. As a designer myself, I appreciate the work and detail of each character; Particularly Kokomi. Her colours and ocean theme, has some of my favourite elements to draw. I unfortunately joined after her last rerun; Yet, as a fan, I held out to have her join my party on day! Mediums: Original line in standard 0.1mm black ballpoint, on recycled note card. Ink colouring and further rendering in Photoshop. Character Design Commissions currently open for August. I can be contacted by my handle on DA and Instagram (links on my blog page)

Annual Summer Solstice illustration of Ex
Made this a while ago. I’m so tired these days, it honestly took a week of chipping away to actually finish.
This years depiction of the OG sun of Molamola, is completely digital (aside from the line art). Layers of filters, gradients, textures, rendering, opacity manipulation, and masks; It was both shorter then a full digital, but longer then just pulling out my old-fassioned Tombow markers. I really wanted to feel like I made a peice of art, given how little I draw.
Burn out or poor health, maybe both, my art progression and completion is less then I’d like this year. It’s hard to physically hold a pen even.
I guess I want to say, that even we haven’t drawn in six-months, or maybe over a year, We can still pick up that pencil again.
Even if no one sees the art, and it never gets posted. Art is an experience on all levels, even if the artist is the only one to remember it.

concept for geo monk. nothing else.
Back from Hiatus, hopefully. Writing four fully illustrated books over two years legitimately burned me out faster then university; When combined with my chronic conditions worsening.
It’s hard to draw with shaking hands, and hard to read and write without attention span. It’s hard to do sports with so many symptoms, and many of my hobbies and joys are out of reach because of that.
Delayed treatment, has fundamentally effected my entire life. But a six-month hiatus, without notice, has effected me in ways I didn’t suspect: Existential dread, letting down people who follow me, even though no one knows I exist. I have gone from creator to lurker. Yet another thing my life dares to take from me.
Expect more scattered posts on my various platforms. I easily abandon social media, as I seldom use it. Btu how else are people going to see my art?

Trix for the Winter solstice! Again!
Having the holidays and my health destroyed me, I have stopped writing and struggle to do art. This one, like Akar, is of a part of a project that refuses to be completed.
For Trix, the moon, I chose the aesthetic of cyber punk. mostly tied in the grit, layered costumes, blockey designs, and blue/pink neons.
I accidentally saved over the mood-board, in the one instance I use one, so take my word for it...

It’s December!
Ring those jungle bells, because it’s Akar with Xmas lights once more!
Akar’s chosen theme for my latest art-challenge project thingy, was ‘bougee’, and this rendition is a gentrification of that original picture.
This massive project has consumed my life, resulting in a literary hiatus. Not to mention the stress of the holidays, consuming my very creative being. Now that I’ve said that, I probably wont finish the project....

Deven, Zin sa Siv’l (Exselist deity of culture and virtue)
It’s been a while since I drew this cheerful modest fellow. Though I love drawing bronze/gold, and textured backgrounds, this one killed me.
I loathed making this so much, I decided to nothing to it aside from colour correction: Every irritating mistake on screen.
It looks better in real life, and after I used gold paint pen, but still.
I work with: Ballpoint pens, markers, acrylic, crayons, graphite, gel-pen, paint-pen, watercolour, origami paper, tissue-paper, recycled papers, pen paper, canvas, plywood, tin-foil, machine & hand sewing, crochet, embroidery, beads, jewelry, wire, gimp, crystal setting, clay, glaze, oven-clay, lacquer, construction supplies, computer parts, adhesives, digital, ect. I LOVE MIXED MEDIA.
But, if I ever have to use acrylic gauche ever again, so help me. I wouldn’t wish that medium on my enemies. It’s as awful as oil paint. My twin can do it, but I’m drawing a line.
I’ve warned you.

Another Cross-Post
I just loved how much this one turned out! But i also forgot to re-blog it on my main blog...
Preview Illustration: Princess Sunaeth Feiry Robe redesign.
For more on this character, see Tale 10: Loss at the Wolf Gate. She makes a minor reappearance in a couple other stories.
I’ve been having a lot of trouble deciding how Sunaeth’s mage robes should look. I did a lot of concepts for Aliki Wolves and Fairy Robes for Wolf Kingdom mages; But Sunaeth is a princess, and her robes needed to be extra. This rendition, thus has a story to it.
Each Fey Kingdom has a specific silhouette. Many are aimed at making the wearer look like an animal, and are inspired by real traditional clothing and textiles. Each of the nations, and fey kingdom, in Ealden Cyendom represents places where my favourite folk-tales originate. I dedicated the Far North to the indigenous peoples of Canada.
Thus, in my ongoing journey to learn more about First Nations communities, due to a poor education, I found their amazing contributions to the arts!
Mackenzie Art Gallery in Regina, has excellent first nations exhibitions; Which have inspired me, by providing a space for Canadian creators. They recently had an exhibition entirely dedicated to beading, from nearly thirty artists from across Canada; and it was magical! I have no patience for the intricate work I had the honor of seeing in person. I love the use of shapes and colours, as well as the creative ways modern issues are expressed.
This design, is inspired by both the beauty of canids, winter, midnight, and the art of beading.

Phlox Sa’o’pa’lorra, in common dress.
Mixed Media (Marker, pen, digital)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Kan’qa~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
Normally concepts for Laal’loo (Land of Flowers) are more floral tea-party themed.
The people of this Molamola nation, are conventionally named after flowers. No matter gender, any angiosperm is game.
There’s costume parties, perfume, glitter, bouquets, brocade curtains, doily table clothes and pastels. A land of prairies, with rosy bluffs. Large lots and houses, with brick and gingerbread trim. The smaller homes pale and quaint. An even pallet of soft light, and inescapable crystal, pearl, and florals. Like and oil painting come to life.
The women wear pastel ankle length dress’s, with mid darts that flare out contrast fabric at the skirt. Their fitted sleeves long, and collars high; Both trimmed in gathered satin, and fabric buttons up the arm and down the chest. The men adorned in straight high waited slacks, mixed material waistcoats with a shimmering pocket square. The shirts patterned cotton or eyelet, with rounded collars and cuffs, and sleeved slightly gathered. Everyone’s polished shoes have a slight heel and point. Each individual wearing a flower or two in their hair; normally matching their names. One special occasions beads of metal, pearl, and glass, are draped off the shoulder from the collar buttons.
Yet, Phlox somehow seems off. Her pallet and collar lower, and sleeves short. She wears reds and geometric patterns; Preferring a ribbon in her hair, to any flower pins. She loves to make makeup, and has a company with her parents. Approachable, adorable, but also profession. Performing femininity to her delight. In a bouquet of the fairest flowers, a single red rose is only subjectively misplaced.
My least favourite colour is red. It’s useful, no question. But I just really hate red.
Annual Summer Solstice drawing of Ex, the sun.
Akin to Akar and Trix, I’m finding it nice to draw a particular deity from my work on interesting ocassions.
This year, I chose a high texture background, and traditional pen line-art, to draw my world’s sun in things that start with ‘sun’. Beach ready
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Kan’qa~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ex, as he named himself, is Zin sa Ex; The sun of Molamola. He is the chosen yellow star, a living Sei, sitting closest to Molamola from the celestial sphere. Just out of reach of the planets gravity.
Ex sits upon his golden sun etched throne, in three sided walls of tarnished brass mirrors. Surrounded by silks of his colour, orange, and opals that flare with his every refraction. The main room decorated with platters of cakes, to fuel his nuclear-fusion’s need of hydrogen. Shelves of boxes of tea, to satisfy his favourite hobby. Every table-top game, but no one to play with. Eternally, immorally, beaming upon the world his mother made.
Ex’s soul and vessel brings Molamola’s seasons, days, and bountiful crops. Pray for a smile before a locked door, and the sun itself may embrace you, in his desire for company. It makes a mind stagnate in youth, to be alone in the sky; filling a role he can never leave, lest a world wither.
Ex is separated from his moon sister. He misses Trix, but only faintly remembers her, while the other deity’s visit him. Like him, his twin is destined to a job that contains her; Walking the longitudes of the lands, bringing night and sleep, as she ever chases Ex’s comforting light. But as she does, he always fades into hues of wonder, were the ground meets the sky.

Cross-Post time!
Bonus illustrations: Chibi’s of less illustrated characters. Aurum, Melida, & Rah, in Fairy Robes.
I recently went a convention, where I had the opportunity to draw for a lot of people. I’ve been busy with appointments, and quite tiered. It’s slowed down my pace of editing and writing, as well are ability to draw. I’m drowning in drafts.
Some part of me fears that if I put too many stories in my collections, people will get archive horror; And be too intimidated to read. My editor argued that readers will find characters they like, and have a good selection. Having choices is also important in Story Collection publishing, in case stories need to be added, removed, or published later if successful.
Personally, I like to pretend I actually have followers that might be excited for an update, or care about my work.
Medium: Tombow felt-tip markers, 1.00mm black ballpoint, Pentalic paper for pens, colour adjusted/edited/backgrounds in Adobe Photoshop.

Costume Study: Zaphoreean Ex’sel, in modified bronze armor.
Due to developing motor-control issues, I've been doing traditional line-art, that is coloured and rendered digitally.
This work was interesting in that it explained why my backgrounds are lack-luster: As a concept artist, I put so much detail into the characters, they become the focus. Therefore, any sort of detailed background would become distracting. I like to give my backgrounds a 2000's graffiti feel, or be more on the abstract side. I used to think this was a bad thing; but I can draw landscapes, they just never seem to fit.
Also, this picture was a study, to see how sultry I can make a warrior. Yes, her costume is prodding the 'impractical female armor' trope.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Kan'qa~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After being begged by the courts, The Rain King Casper finally decided to start his family. He feared having heirs, as he never wanted to be a leader, and believed his bloodline cursed; he didn't wish this upon anyone. He considered his abstinence an act of charity. But Casper and his partner changed their minds with time. But there was a barrier; His queen was Bailieeyo, a Skrr'ai'sivil. These bronze soldier dolls, had features of unicorns, dragons, and stymphillion birds.
There is a fixed amount of these immortal ageless servants, brought to life by the aura of the god of wealth. Casper and Bailileeyo feared that she would be unable to bare children like her kin. Or perhaps their hybrid children would not survive.
But to their surprise, Bailileeyo eventually gave her kingdom a princess. Not as good as a son, but equally beloved. Zaphoreean was vibrantly marked as her mother, with the bronze nails and blood, and she lacked wings. She took more after her mother. So much so that Zaphoreean stopped aging once an adult, and was unable to have children, and never tiered. But she was mortal, lacked a horn, and was formed sturdily as her father. Zaporeean was neither the kin of her kingdom, nor the majesty of her mother.
When Zaphoreean was an older child, she took decided to train with the general. She had twin little siblings now; one of which was a boy, and thus the heir. This relieved Zaporeen from expectations. But it bothered her sometimes; How her little siblings took more after their father, then her. But she loved them so.
As years passed, the traits of her mother that separated her from the crows, allowed her to hone her talent as a warrior. She strove to protect her family. Thus, when the general passed, Zaporeean was the warrior guarding the royal family. After her father's passing and her brother king, she defended her nation.
Concept: Taren, Zin sa Iroo: Goddess of wheather, earth and arts.
The bonus is the jade armor. The rain effects nearly killed me. But it was a good challenge to draw her with marker.
No story, I just like to draw her in spring!
Mediums: 1.0mm ballpoint, Tombow felt markers, Pentalic paper for pens. Smooting, colour adjustment, and background in Photoshop.
