27thFeb / research about "Surrealism vibe" contemporary artwork.

For the instagram, I want to play with collage with our own photography. Using the instagram square photos, i plan to make a exquisite corpse of photos.

27thFeb / Research of surrealism,

short experimental film "Un chien andalou" by Bunuel and Dali. representative film of surrealism

This film, contrary to other films of the époque, doesn't describe a love story of a gentleman and a lady, but is composed of fragments of scenes with surreal images. Personally this movie's message was hardly understandable, but the images they created, such as eye cut with knife, ants coming out of a hand, and dead deers on the piano were very shocking. There is no concrete story, and the chronology is mixed, so this film leaves up to the viewers about the interpretation of the concept. This is the compilation of the surrealism.

My proposal for this week is "Surrealism". I want to experiment with mixed media to produce contemporary work using the essence of surrealism. I think this theme gives width to develop creative work in any field. I've been chosen editor with two other classmates.

This is the website that I made for this week's project.

The focus of this website is on how to make photography look attractive on a website screen, so I took one page for each photoshoot. I also added the slideshow of the magazines. I made the layout combining all the efficient ideas from the research. For the first page, I added a simple gif of the logo with glitch effect. I enjoyed doing the graphic design and layout.

21stFeb / research into typography

By using a scanner, I experimented the typography of the Gen Zero logo. The interesting discovery is that when i move the paper while scanning, it makes different interesting effect. It also added unexpected colors although the original font was black. These could be a very interesting idea for typography design.

20thFeb / personal diary The collaboration of a fashion designer and the character Hello Kitty is quite surprising because they made the old character onto a super contemporary fashion element!
