Ok so this is Mah and Shelo, two original characters who are both enby lesbians and very much in love. They’re both poc and I want to write this correctly and do the best representation I can, so feel free to openly critique. I haven’t wrote much at all and this is just a WIP. Mah is a knowledge keeper in charge of a library that is partnered with a scientific guild that Shelo runs (the SGRP), and the guild protects and rebuilds a ruined wasteland environment to try to restore it after a revolution in a pollution riddled land. Mah is based on fantasy Persian and holds star magic, she has a blue and gold motif and is a hijabi who adorns her clothing with golden stars. (I’ll draw her and Shelo for you guys if you want!!) Also, Shelo is based on fantasy Kenyan and has a gold, white, and brown motif and has themes of summer and sun. She also has a thing for tea parties and food hdkfkg. They aren’t technically main characters but I wanted to write something with them so badly. Thank you for reading especially if you’ve read this far, it’s very dear to me! :) EDIT: forgot to mention for context, they are both immortal beings.
Shelo laughed, a most glorious sound, as if fairies danced around her mind ringing little bluebells that echoed through her lungs. She breathed life essence; the kind of magic that made you feel just a bit tipsy and lighthearted. She made you want to dance, and sing, and drift into a peaceful sleep beneath a willow tree on a warm summer afternoon. The sun itself seemed to follow her always, peppering lovely little freckles upon her face like stars. Mah loved those constellations, and she spent her leisure time charting them in her head as she swept Shelo’s stray hairs from her face. They soaked in the warm feeling of her time with Shelo, more time to admire the golden brown pools staring up at her. With her head in Mah’s lap, the astronomer lifted up the teacup her wife gifted her as a birthday present. It was a deep blue, her favorite color. Shelo had said it ‘reminded her of Mah, except, their power was no match for dainty porcelain.’ They thought back on that day and smiled…
Things were still harsh - and took hard work - but simpler back then, compared to the second war they were involved in now. The price was worthy, fighting for freedom and education was all the two of them knew. They would always fight for what they believed in. Love, freedom, and knowledge. It’s what Mah lived and breathed. To protect Shelo, and anybody else’s family who deserved to live free. It was as human as Mah could possibly be.
“When will they arrive, how shall I prepare, mpenzi?”, Shelo spoke, barely above a whisper.
Mah only grinned and waved their hand. “Oh but the company we keep, he shall see us in the morning, and you know he wants you to be as comfortable as if he were not there. Or, the man will lecture me on the importance of relaxation again.” She chortled.
“Do expect me to at least prepare kaimati! Or cheese! I can’t not welcome a guest with open arms.” , She pouted, “at least a fine tea!”
Mah ran her long nails gently down her wife’s face, loving how her hair framed her as if she were art. She was, art, to her. “Oh dear, my goddess,” , they huffed, “you always were such a charming host. No wonder you captured my heart that night.”
Shelo shot up from her lap to face her, blush brushing her cheeks and ears. “Oh you absolute romantic!” She went to give her wife the most tender kisses, and she did, until a familiar energy presented itself in the garden.
“Good evening, starshines,” , the man purred, “I hate to arrive early, though I knew you’d throw an entire, yet lovely, banquet if I were on time, dear Shelo.”
“Oh! You wretched beast, you spoil my surprise! At least let me make you tea!” She proclaimed, rising from her lap throne to embrace him in a tight grip.
“Oh no, starshine, you spoil me too often.” , Jean replied. (To be continued, just a snippet for now :) )
