joneshead:
He wasn’t used to this – in fact, he’d never really fathomed its possibility. Was this a heart to heart with Cheryl Blossom? Not that either of them were acting terribly emotional, and to be fair, he hadn’t shared a hint of a detail about his life, but still. They were civilly located on opposite sides of the table from one another, having a conversation that didn’t involve insults and judgement – well, at least not towards each other. His dig at her father clearly earned a rise out of her, and he didn’t push it any further. It was sensitive enough – even Jughead Jones, lacking in tact, could recognize when to shut his mouth on certain things. Lips parted with understanding. He’d understood her words backwards … And suddenly it was all the more interesting. Who would be paying Mr. Blossom and for what? Were they hiding bodies out on Pembrooke property? “Well, when did it all start? Before or after? And what’s the thing that connects them all?” If it was suspicious money, there had to be a link. The deposit password. The time of month it was sent. Something.
“I mean as far as I look back, it’s always there. It’s every month-” she replied lightly, her voice beginning to lower the more she thought on the topic. Cheryl hesitated for a moment, watching the milkshake places before her before nodding as the waitress walked off with their order. Taking a moment, she took a drink before eyes looking back his way. “It’s every month on the fifth. It never changes, even on Sunday’s which is totally weird since banks are closed,” she added, her mind trying to wrap around it. She had never thought that her family had any true evil in them, just the sort that made them terrible parents. It was after Jason’s death and her father’s truth coming forward that it all began to connect, that maybe she was part of a family that had much deeper problems then their repressed ability to love and understand. “The name always changes, but there is always some sort of LLC related to it, another super weird similarity, It dates back over the last five years and I can imagine longer,” Cheryl shrugged, looking down. “It’s not something I should be doing, I’m no Sherlock, but things aren’t measuring up. And I’m-” she took a breath. “I’m sick of being the only Blossom that’s in the dark about these shenanigans, especially since I’m left to look over mommy and her lunatic moments.”

At that, Betty couldn’t help but BLUSH, preferring strong to the unflattering and sometimes downright cruel things that had been whispered about her along the years. “ That’s very KIND of you to say, Cheryl. I’m happy wherever, honestly, but I do think I’ll be of better service holding the other girls up. You should ask Veronica if she wants to be on top, or Nancy; she’s been dying to prove herself as a flyer. ” Now that the matter of Thursday’s practice had been resolved, she leaned back against the lockers, and watched Cheryl. “ You know, you’re a better captain than people give you credit for. I just realized you’ve never put yourself as flyer before, even though it’s the most obviously impressive position. You always put the TEAM first. Cheryl Blossom, I do believe you might just have hidden depths. ”
“Nancy could be an excellent decision, especially since she’s been so dedicated to the cheer cause. Perfect suggestion, Cooper-” she meant the words coming from her lips. Sure, she was aware of what had been whispered in the past about Betty. And while Cheryl had her fare share of cattiness she expressed, the size of a fellow woman would never be something that would set them apart. And it was the next few words that actually brought a smile to her features. If there was one thing she loved the most, it was her cheer squad and the ever present focus to be the best ones out there. “Well, you can’t coach a team from center stage. Cheer needs the strongest people all over the field to help lift each other up, both physically and metaphorically speaking,” Cheryl brushed a piece of hair behind her ear. “Oh, hidden depths. Sounds like I’m the next best thing coming to the CW.”

𝐒𝐀𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐀 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐌𝐀𝐆𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐋 𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐄𝐃. Perhaps even more than she was willing to let Cheryl Blossom know. ❛ Awesome ! I will definitely put your name on the list. My Aunt Hilda will be so glad that I’m rounding out the list. She’s a little worried about no one showing up. ❜ Sabrina flashes a smile, slipping the scrunchie off of her wrist to tie her hair up into a ponytail. Sometimes it felt like she kept her life so separate that she didn’t let anyone in. With Cheryl she made it easy to talk about not so serious things and throw herself into the whims of highschool. ❛ Oh, they might need help with decorations. Sometimes my Aunties don’t know where the line for taste is. You might be able to help us remedy that particular problem.❜
“Perfect! Don’t you dare worry about people showing up. I will make sure people show up, it’s the Blossom guarantee-” the grin on her lips was the first one that was authentic since she had lost her brother. There was fun in being able to have someone she considered a friend now, even if they hadn’t known each other long. This was an opportunity for her to grow, to challenge herself to return the person she had once been. “Oh but of course. Trust me, I’ve had more than enough quorums with family members not understanding that the future is now. We’ll make it totally beautiful and rad.”

“It’s fine, Cher.” Josie gave her a reassuring smile. She really didn’t blame her. A lot was going on and her main concern was that her friend was alright. Cheryl put on a brave front but that didn’t stop Josie from worrying about her. She chuckled. “I can’t wait to show you. Val wrote an amazing song and Mel’s vocals on the bridge are killer.” She studied the other girl’s features. “How’ve you been by the way? I feel like I haven’t seen you in ages.”
“Trust me when I say it will truly never happen again,” she hummed, a bright smile pulling onto her features. It was rare that Cheryl’s mind tossed and turned the way it did. But since the story of Jason had finally broke lose, her entire family seemingly in the awful spotlight, it was hard for her to focus on the things that she truly cared so much about. “That sounds totally epic. I know you ladies will put a whole new meaning to pep,” her hands clapped together, excitement coloring her features. “I’ve just been-” a pause. “So busy with everything, you know?”

@eternalandiconic put a spell on you !
𝐒𝐀𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐀 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐓𝐈𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐀𝐅𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐄𝐑 𝐏𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐂𝐄. She tied up her blonde tresses in a ponytail, changing out of the form-fitting uniform. She pulls on more comfortable clothing, looking over at Cheryl. “Good work today,” Sabrina says with a smile. She’s still new to this whole sport and wants to maintain a good impression with them. “My Aunties are helping at this event in town at the comic book store this next Friday – it might not be a ton of fun, but I wanted to extend the invitation to you. They have a few fun tricks up their sleeves.” She tucks the uniform into her bag, slinging it over her shoulder. “So, what do you say ?”
“That is so mega sweet of you to say, Spellman. I have to say you were pretty magical yourself,” she hummed. It was rare that anyone invited Cheryl to do anything outside of school. Sure, there was her clique of cheerleader friends that she spent lunch with, waltzing down the hall together, but they weren’t the type of people to do much other than the high school parties every weekend. But this, this was the first time that something actually sounded fun. “Excuse me? I would totally love to come check it out. Sounds absolutely rad,” her hands clapped together, an eager grin growing onto her features. “Do you guys need any help? I hate to brag but I am a total asset when setting up events.”

joneshead:
The spirit, indeed – but when it came to food, he certainly had it. He could have any number of milkshakes, any favour, and he’d be more than happy. Ordering a chocolate one as she chose strawberry – just to be different, more than anything – he settled into the red vinyl booth, warn seats and backs from years of patrons in and out of the establishment. He wondered what would prompt Pop to remodel, if anything. Maybe if it burned to the ground. Or if someone spray painted the entire restaurant. As she stuttered through the beginning of her explanation, he propped his elbow on the table and leaned his chin against the palm of his hand. He was genuinely interested, but he was also aware of how this could turn. If he was asked to get involved somehow … Well, that would be an interesting conversation. “Oh?” A noncommittal reply. “Sounds like usual corporate crap to me.” Not that the Blossom farm was exactly a corporation, but her family certainly fit the mold. He smirked secretly. “Maybe he’s got a secret love child.”
Her finger tapped against the table top, watching as the waitress walked away with ease. Her eye was on the prize, a strawberry milkshake that would make the day much better than it already had been. And then, her feelings came into play. There was a lot riddling in her mind, a deep breath falling as he mused back to her words. Quite frankly, she was surprised that he said anything to begin with, thinking that the words coming from her lips would disappear to the air and drift away. “It’s not corporate crap, excuse you very much,” she replied harshly, feeling heat ignite in her cheeks. It was hard to rationalize her thoughts as a slow build of anger bubbled in her chest. “Not that you would know anything about love children, but I’m pretty sure they don’t pay you for your business. Other way around,” she exhaled, feeling a bit of coolness wash over her. “The weirdest part is it comes in from different names each time. Not just the same input-” lips pursed together, rolling her eyes. “It’s whatever, really. Probably people just wanting to help the Blossom cause now that daddy is-” a pause. “No more.”
