Sky Lore: Trial of Fire

Yay time for some more Sky lore theories! Today I did the fire trial with a friend so that’s what I’m gonna talk about

Specifically, I want to talk about the dark shadows. I think most of us agree that they’re some sort of dark creature, but I don’t think they’re corrupted like krills. I think they’re the only natural creature of darkness there is.

Unlike corrupted light creatures (crabs, krill) they don’t seem to be compelled to attack light - while they harm us, it doesn’t seem to be a conscious decision on their part - we are in their path, and that’s it.

An interesting thing happens when they “die”, though - they turn into colorful sparkles, which strikes me as more of a light creature thing. They’re also destroyed by light (empowered us), making them the only destroyable dark creature.

Given that the trials are ancient, i have a theory to propose - long ago, the prophets sealed ancient beings of darkness inside the trials to keep them away from the Sky Kingdom, as of then being unable to destroy them. Perhaps when the King did the trials, he brought a little bit of darkness out with him…
