He’d crossed into Cory’s domain this time, shattering the glass between worlds to do it, and caught a momentary glimpse of this universe’s Dream. Much the same as his own, at least at a glance, but a glance was all he got.
It has left him feeling rattled, somehow. He is an intruder here. He does not belong - but then, he doesn’t belong anywhere, does he?
To settle his nerves, he has been bothering his mirror. Not to piss him off (though whether it does or not doesn’t matter to him). Just to feel normal. In control.
Right now he’s flicking the absurd, spiky tufts of Cory’s hair, so different from his own. They remind him of the crests of some birds. “What is with this? I never looked like this. He never looked like this.” He kind of likes it. The same with the wide, unsettling mouth; the lean and wiry build; the dress sense that doesn’t quite match his own. He isn’t usually this tactile but sometimes being near Cory makes him want to start grabbing.
[ bothers you bothers you bothers you bothers you. no we’re not going to talk about how bad dream scares him shh. ]
Cory tweaks his head out of reach for a second, a grumbly 'rrrh' in his sinuses as he does so.
"What's with this, yourself." Cory flicks the collar of Corinth's jacket up on one side so it sticks up. Then he snorts and leans back, devastating cruelty in the soft way the fabric of his shirt pools at his collarbone and at his hips. For a second, someone less perceptive might even say sickly.
His tongue sucks loudly at the gumline of his teeth, playing up an offensively coy head tilt and sing-song campy lisp.
"Good ol' fashioned family men needed a face for when they got scared of catching HIV from the bitchy queen next door," he says, dry and bitter and sardonic.
His smile wanes somewhat. "And, you know, the queen next door sometimes doesn't get treated too good by his own, and gets eaten up anyway. You know how humans are." Wolf in lamb's clothing, misplaced trust, deadly appearances. People hurting people. Cory can't help but have room in his chest for all of them.
He relents to the grabbing again and watches unflinching while his hair gets messed up. Part of him wants to pick open his reflection's anxiousness like a scab. Corinth would probably let him, too.
His hand curls into a fist in the hair at Corinth's nape. He doesn't pull so much as just twist until there isn't any more give.
"What are you distracting yourself with me for anyway, huh? I'm pretty but I'm not that pretty."

puts a flower in his hair 🌺 ❤️
The nightmare doesn't protest the faceless's whim of the moment. The collective unconscious ocean, deep waters, big frigid soup of human awareness pinging across the gulf of limbic synapses all over Earth. The murky hands that reach out and touch his shins aren't well-formed enough to be considered full dreams or nightmares. They exist as verb without subject, sensation without observer, all the complexity of human imagination with no synthesis into ideas. Cory can appreciate their fathomlessness, and allows himself to relish the aching cold of the ocean's waves lapping hungrily at him.
When one of the senseless fragments places a flower on him, he huffs but doesn't shake it off. It's not to his taste, but the tree blossom doesn't look out of place, much in the way it would fall on a rocky outcrop, or onto a dead deer in the woods, and wouldn't be out of the ordinary.
"Where did you even get that," he says, plucking it out of his hair to look at it. He doesn't expect the ocean to answer him, but he's amused by its thoughtless desire to give a gift.

The Ten of Horns emerges as a reflection of the culmination of suffering, betrayal, and the piercing anguish that accompanies the final blow of adversity. It stands as a testament to the human capacity to endure, even in the face of overwhelming hardship, and speaks to the transformative power inherent in embracing the depths of despair. This card serves as a solemn reminder of the inevitability of pain and the transient nature of suffering, as well as symbolizing the myriad of ways in which life can pierce the heart and soul. It stands as a monument to endurance in the face of overwhelming hardship. Through its gaze, we witness the transformative power born from embracing the depths of despair.
This card beckons us to ponder the intricate dance between predator and prey, betrayal and surrender. With patient resolve, the larval antlion constructs funnel-shaped pits in the earth, a metaphor for the trials we face in life. When we, like unwitting insects, stumble into their grasp, we are confronted with the stark reality of our vulnerability. There are moments in life when we must accept the inevitable and release our attachment to what has come to an end.
Mirroring the antlion's lethal strike, The Ten of Horns reminds us of the inevitability of endings. It urges us to relinquish our grip on what has reached its conclusion and to embrace the promise of renewal that lies dormant within the depths of despair. As the antlion larvae emerge from their sandy sanctuaries as adults, so too do we have the opportunity to rise from the ashes of our tribulations. In accepting closure, we unburden ourselves from the weight of the past and open ourselves to the possibilities of new beginnings. Through the transformative power of endings, we find the strength to forge ahead, guided by the promise of rebirth and the wisdom gained from navigating the shadows of adversity.

someday i will articulate the differences between cory and corinth in their respective strengths/concentrations as two facets of the same ideas and it will be so well-worded and everyone will clap.
but for now
something about cory being artificial in the sense of artificial introduction and natural evolution and cats in new zealand, and corinth being artificial in the sense of construction and mimics and predestination and objectification.

18, 15, and 12 for the munday meme!
what is your favourite part about using this platform to roleplay on?
The lack of pressure. I have done discord rp groups the last few years but its just wayyyyyy too much to keep track of. I like the passive observation on tumblr, and the aesthetic posting.
what was the first fandom that you roleplayed within?
Homestuck. My first serious character was Spades Slick who I rped for years. This is what became of him now. Sylvester is still my ol reliable. He is like 12 years old now :')
Tumblr media Tumblr media
how did you come across the roleplay community?
Homestuck. My first rp experience was MSParp community rooms.

Im.having thoughts but cory is a weird one to me. Definitely not a rogue despite the weapon preference. Crazy ass way of long death monk or hexblade warlock maybe.
My brain is gutter sludge today so ill probably just be yapping ooc.
Anyway what would your characters be in a ttrpg. Not limited to dnd/dnd-alikes. Im curious.
