Today's walk.

The morels were up unexpectedly I did not have a bag. So I just grabbed a shirtfull, and a couple small Ramps for dinner. So glad it's warm again!!

Found this little guy while I was collecting fiddleheads. He looks pretty young. These Newts look almost like completely different animals as they mature...

Waited a day to be sure, but looks like the pear blossoms beat the frost.

This is my favorite dwarf pear tree, and it’s flowering. I decided to take the evening shot because there’s going to be a frost. I’m not going to cover the tree just because it could probably use a year off from production. So I figure if it frosts, it’s just a way to give it rest. I wanted to get a shot just in case the flowers drop.

Wood Nettles - When they are this young they’re worth using as spinach substitute. Much bigger and they are still good for tea but start to get bitter and fibrous when just eaten. Obviously be careful picking it has a sting. Jewel Weed is not up yet so baking soda and water paste if you get stung.

Final trim on the winter pears. The robin came back when I was done.

Yellow Trout Lilly and Cleaver. Signs of spring finally. I am betting Morels pop up in 2 weeks.

Lenten Rose - not a lot up yet it’s a cold spring but these do not seem to care.

Dryad’s Saddle, I’ve tried every which way to cook it, and I have never got it to taste good. I like the smell, but not the consistency.

Follow up post on the knife for my friend. All finished could be better but nice and very sharp…
