Essay: An Interview to think about
As what I have noticed in our country, instead of doing good things to their fellow Filipino, they do bad things in order for them to have what they want. I do not know why people think in that way. The crime rate here in country is increasing rapidly because of the deeds of the people. We know already that doing a bad action will never be good to anyone. Even teens nowadays can do what adult criminals do. They steal things, murder, wild drunk, taking illegal drugs and etc. Crime is an act punishable by law usually considered an evil act. Crime refers to many types of misconduct forbidden by law. Crimes include such things as murder, stealing a car, resisting arrest, possession or dealing of illegal drugs, being nude in public, drunk driving, and robbery. Crime is an act that has been timeless and has been committed practically since the start of time.
Since I want to be a police officer someday, the person that I want to interview are those people who committed a crime. People like need to learn a lesson for them to wake up in the reality. I know it is not easy being the criminal because you will be lock in the jail and wait for a month or year that depends on the case you have or you will be in a jail for the rest of your life. But the first question that comes up to my mind is if they know what will happen to them then why do they do such bad things when they know already the consequence? If it is robbery, is it because of financial problems? I know it is hard to find a work or a job that has a big salary but we must start at small things and that thing will become bigger and bigger. It also needs sacrifice to maintain what you have. It is not easy to find money. Money will not easily come to you.
You must be working hard for it so we do not take others money because they worked hard for it. If it is murdering, is it because of the emotion that you canโ€™t control? Controlling emotion might be hard but if only you would use your brain rather than entertaining your emotion then you can control yourself. Usually the main reason or cause of murder is the jealousy. Jealousy generally refers to the thoughts or feelings of insecurity, fear, and concern over a relative lack of possessions. Caused behind of jealousy are lack of confidence, poor self-image, fear and insecurity. My second question is the moment when they do a crime, what was they thinking at that time? It sounds ridiculous when you know already what is the consequence of what you are doing but you are still doing it. I was wondering about the illegal drugs, why there are still illegal drugs if that makes people go high?
Why people make that sh*t? Are they stupid? We know that high people can cause many things. They can eat you alive and that will lead to murder. They can lovemaking with animals and that will lead to animal abuse. They can cook a house without any recipes. This question is for the person who is the first created the illegal drug, why would you make such things that is not healthy anymore in our body? If you know it is not good then why did you spread your virus to anyone? There are innocent people affected by the folly business of the high stupid people. My third question is if you are in the place of your victim, what would you feel? Isnโ€™t it hard for them? Donโ€™t you have any mercy to them? I know people like you have problems but we must think also that you are not the only one who has a problem. We all have problems in our lives so we must not involve other people in your problem. It is hard to handle a problem but if you will just find a way to solve the problem in a good way and without involving other people then you are good and no worries.

Biography : Rodrigo Roa Duterte
Rodrigo Roa Duterte is a Filipino politician who is the 16th and current president of the Republic of the Philippines since June 2016 at the age of 71 years old. Aside from that, he's the first president that came from the third island of the Mindanao, Philippines. He is now the oldest president in the Philippines and is the chair of the ruling PDP-Laban party. Rodrigo, also known as "Digong" and "Rody", was born on March 28 1945 at Maasin, Southern Leyte. He was conceived by Vincente Duterte and Soledad Roa Duterte. His father was a lawyer and an acting major of Danao then eventually became a provincial governor of the undivided Danao provincial, while his mother was a school teacher and an active activist. He was the second child in the family of five children. His sister named Eleanore is the eldest and Jocelyn is the youngest. Between him and Jocelyn, he has two brothers named Emmanuel and Benjamin. Rodrigo started his education in Maasin, Southern Leyte in the Laboon Elementary School but within a year of schooling they moved in Davao City. He continued his study at Santa Ana Elementary School until he completed his elementary years. In his high school, he experienced being expelled from two of the schools that he attended because of his unruly behavior.
ย  After being expelled, he finally continued in the Holy Cross College High School department and completed his secondary there. After he finished his secondary, he was sent in Manila and attended his college in Lyceum of the Philippines University in 1968. After that, he finished his college with a degree of Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. At the same year, he enrolled in San Beda College of law and earned his degree. He then passed his board exam in 1972. Last 1973, Rodrigo Roa Duterte married his now former wife Elizabeth Abellana Zimmerman, a flight attendant of German-American amnesty. Elizabeth Abellana Zimmerman and Rodrigo Roa Duterte has three children named; Paolo, Sara and Sebastian. ย  In the past years Duterte developed a relationship with a Filipino Business woman and a former nurse named Cielito "Honeylet" Avanceรฑa. She's now Rodrigo Roa Duterte's common-law-wife and for the years they've been together, they had a daughter named Veronica Duterte who's also known as "Kitty". She is currently the youngest child of our Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte. Digong began his career at Davao City in the prosecutor's office serving in the post until 1979 and eventually became a fourth, third and second assistant city prosecutor in 1979 until 1989. In that same year, he was appointed as the office in charge Vice Mayor in the city of Davao. After 22 years, he served the longest terms in the government as a Mayor in the Philippines, in a span of seven terms.
ย  He then became a part of the house of representative. From 1998 to 2001, he served as the congressman of the first District in Davao City after he became a part of the Makabayang Masang Pilipino Party list. He found himself immensely boring. Consequently, ย in 2001, he once again stood for the mayoral election in Davao City. After he won three more consecutive terms in 2001, 2004 and 2007, the condition of Davao City improved in all aspect and won National Literary Hall of Fame Award for being the first place in the Outstanding Local Government Unit, Highly Urbanized City. Duterte never confined himself to his office, h always worked at the street level and was often seen leading from the front ridding his big motorcycle. As the President of the Republic of the Philippines, his major contribution was the War on Drugs. He believed that the root of all the crimes in the Philippines are the drugs. In his first six months in the office, more than 6,000 people were reported dead because of the "war on drugs". It was also reported that a fraction of those deaths occurred during police operations and the overwhelming majority were extrajudicial killings caused by the death squads which is now a closed case because of the lack of evidence.
Hundreds of unidentified or unclaimed bodies were interred in mass burials. The human rights organizations and the Roman Catholic officials spoke out against the extrajudicial killings under the war on drugs of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, but the latter only responded by accusing the church of corruption and sexual abuse of the children. It was followed by criticisms by the United Nation's human rights experts that extrajudicial killings had increased since his election. Duterte threatened to withdraw the Philippines from the UN and form a new organization with the China and African nations. He has declared his intention to pursue an "independent foreign policy", and sought to distance the Philippines from the United States and European nations and pursue closer ties with the China and Russia.

Travelouge: Rizal Shrine in Dapitan City
Tumblr media
Summer was coming so my family agreed to travel to have some fun. We were taking a tour at Rizal Shrine, Dapitan which is located in Zamboanga Del Norte Region. Although this place is not included in Philippine's top tourism destination, it is surprisingly rich in historical treasures and natural attractions. The Rizal Shrine is two kilometres from Dapitan City Plaza and known as one of the tourist spots in Zamboanga Del Norte because of the 16 hectare land in Talisay which our national hero, Dr. Jose Protacio Mercado y Alonso Realonda, purchased during his exile period and is now converted into a national park. It was really a long journey to reach Dapitan City coming from Ozamiz City. I think itโ€™s actually four hours to reach Dapitan Rizal Shrine in Barangay Talisay. When we finally arrived, I felt really excited upon seeing the entrance when we entered the park. I can say that the park is a cool shady place surrounded by century old trees in which some are even older than Dr. Rizal himself.
Tumblr media
The entire park atmosphere is invigorating and it is also clean and well maintained. The place is perfect for nature lovers because of the preserved original beauty of nature. When you stroll around the firsts structure, what will catch your attention is the Casa Residencia, the resident house of Rizal and the biggest house that was built in Rizal Shrine. When I entered Casa Residencia, I saw one bedroom with a bed and a photo of Dr. Jose Rizal. You can also see the health house built by Rizal which is called Casitas de Salud. They say it was made for the people that was far from the municipality. There is also a square house which was the dormitory of Rizalโ€™s pupils and it was said that the underneath of the square house was their workshop area. Sitting at Rizalโ€™s workshop where his students practiced carpentry felt like Iโ€™m one of his students too. Rizal also built a clinic, the Casa Redonda.
Tumblr media
ย In history, it is said that George Taufer, the foster father of Josephine Bracken, had his eye operation done by Dr. Rizal. There are many unique and amazing structures that you will discover inside the shrine's grounds. At the end of the shrine you will find and be amazed by a rock which occupied a prominent space in the shrine only to know that it was the โ€œMi Retiro Rockโ€, Rizalโ€™s retreat rock and prominently mentioned in Rizalโ€™s memoirs. It was said that the rock was named after his poem "Mi Retiro" where Rizal wrote the first stanza while sitting on this rock. It is also called the lovers rock as it was the favourite spot of Josephine and Rizal as they spent hours watching sunset. There is also a big museum called Rizalliana Museum which was built in 1971. When you enter the museum you can see some artifacts, photos, memorabilia and even the preserve clothes of Rizal. There is also a monument of Rizal that was built on March 8, 1987 by the order of knights of Rizal. My heritage tour to the historic Dapitan is really fun and priceless and there is no way you want to skip the beauty and the natural attraction that will surely make you appreciate and love the beauty of nature and the historic place. A visit to this place probably helped me understand the depths of Rizalโ€™s patriotism and noble service towards our country.
Tumblr media
Exploring each hut makes you go back in history which you can see where our national hero ate, sleep, taught his students and treated patients. In the heritage park you will surely observe the diligent life style led by our national hero through his nipa hut residence, water works, hospital and dormitory that was worth the time money and hard work of our national hero. Discovering and having information of the fruits of Rizalโ€™s four productive years in the field of medicine, agriculture, entrepreneurship, education, engineering, and arts and poetry will surely enhance your knowledge and it is a perfect place for students who study the life of Rizal and people who loves history. Anyway, a trip to Rizal Shrine never disappoints me and everyone, and I really enjoy lots of things. I also now know a little bit about the life of our national hero after the trip.

Journal: Believer
When I was a kid, I dreamt of many beautiful things that could happen in my life. I had many ambition. I feel very happy whenever I got high scores. I thought many of career I could possibly have. I thought that life was easy. I could pass every trials in my life.
ย Little did I know as I grew up, life seemed to be more complicated than I thought. I got to handle problems here and there. I experienced having an anxiety, feeling sadness and emptiness. I cried many times. I was and even now silent most of the time, and I felt helpless for myself. I was a suicidal person before, and luckily, I didn't end my life.
ย One day, I raged in my bedroom, it was so messy and I almost killed myself. At that time, I cried again and felt so pathetic. I went for a walk a bit away from our house and then suddenly, I realized that forgiveness is essential because it gives a sense of freedom and a lightness in the heart like nothing else. When I arrived at home I drank coffee. I let the wounds in my wrist be healed.
ย Despite this life and situation, I have faith to God. I know God has great plans for me. I am careless in my life at times but I learn from it. I hope my family would never stop loving and supporting me. Someday I would pay all my parents' efforts. I'm not always attached to them but deep inside, I sincerely and genuinely care for them. I'm not a perfect first-born child, however, I really try my best to make them happy and proud.

Literary Journalism: Modern Day Lasallian
A girl was born in a simple barangay named Litapan. She lives with her loving family and the oldest of the siblings. She imagined life as a wheel, that has its ups and downs and with hard work and careful decisions you can get by life more easily.in their place, her beauty is outstanding. She had these deep set of brown eyes you could drown just by looking at her. Her mid-length hair with a tint of cascading on her shoulders closely resembles to a flowing black ink. With a smile thatโ€™s so bright and also a very mesmerizing it makes you want to smile. She is also very unpredictable with her ever changing sense of fashion partnered up with her attitude in life makes her a duality, a total package if I may say. She is also gentle and loves animals so much. A God fearing child that always put God the center of her life. She goes to an ecofriendly school named De La Salle University. An elite prestigious school with its quality education and friendly staffs, students and God Centered citizens.
ย  As a student, she's an introvert one. She rarely participates in the past classes of her respective schools that she has encountered. With ever-changing environment she became a shy one and in fact she didnโ€™t know what she has become. For the past months of being enrolled in La Salle University, she feared to become worse, but she became the opposite. It all change when she encountered some good friends and classmate around her and the examples set by the Lasallian community. She was fascinated each of them by their unique trait and is trying their best and enjoy to co-exist and adapt to new things around them. She was also inspired by the life of St. de La Salle.
ย  Some of the examples would be is first how he equipped his teachers the saint is known for creating manuals for the teacher and administrators, he also found a way to standardize the teaching methods in such way that it can be easily copied to newly coming teachers and more schools to be build. Second he created a community that will last for more decades to come, instead of doing it alone the saint created a gathering of brothers to carry out the mission and enlisted the help from laymen and the poor. He unified each and one another regardless of their backgrounds as long as they have the compassion to help the poor. Third he focused on the people that needed the help the most at his time he started a movement of education to help the poor to be educated regardless of the status. Lastly he give more what his beneficiaries could ask for. He could have made more priest outside his school but no he chooses to stay in order for his students to be equipped in life. He even went to introduce new subjects to old curriculums introduces class based learning, in both which are being still used for today.
ย  Also always have faith in our Almighty God your journey of life shall always consist in having faith to the almighty God. Things may look bad but just trusting and giving faith to him things will eventually work out. It can also help by appreciating the things all around you created by him for you to have a sense of how beautiful our world is because of these things the girl then found a new set of confidence, brilliance, elegancy and a more shaped personality and also a diligent student of the school. She learned to interact with the society and the environment, participates in every activities as a Modern Lasallian. One of the qualities of a modern Lasallian able to adapt and learn things is what she'd develop as a student. A Modern Lasallian from the word 'modern' connects to the 21st century learners, which are us. In all aspects of Life we are able to achieve something far greater than the past Lasallians in a good way. As we were blessed with modern Technologies and Ever changing Environment, students can adapt things more quickly and efficiently be a better person.
