they were walking down a hallway, but her eyes weren’t focused on the way. jooeun held onto the taller’s arm so she wouldn’t end up stumbling on something or take a wrong turn, but she wasn’t paying much attention to him either. he had complained about it already, but her ears simply blocked his voice out.

“wow, isn’t he just gorgeous?” her fingers zoomed in and out of the same picture displayed on her phone, admiring every single imperfection he didn’t have. although she had the best boyfriend anyone could have right by her side, jooeun’s crush on bart swanson was a known constant in her life. the top quidditch player for the puddlemere united was often complimented on his appearance - many adding that it was all he had, but the girl knew he was just as much of an amazing chaser as he was handsome.

her ears managed to catch his groan of complaint after a long time of neglection. she couldn’t help herself but smile behind closed lips, finally looking up at the boy that kept her company. “what was that for? you know it’s true.” he looked back down at her, the expression on his face already making her guess what he was going to say. “that guy? i’m much more good looking than he is!”

she huffed, running a finger through her phone to show another picture. “just look at him!” the girl raised her hand for the other to see, almost slamming the thing into his face. with another grunt daniel took the phone from her hand, raising it even higher than she could reach. “hey!” her arm was as stretched as it could be, the other that had been holding onto him trying to push him down, but her efforts were useless. “i just want to show you what real gorgeous is.”

the taller opened the front camera, starting to make the perfect pose for a picture. jooeun quit trying to stop him as soon as she realized what he was going on. she didn’t even try hiding her smile either, flashing her teeth at the beautiful sight. he had distracted himself, head turned up to get the perfect angle, so each one of her hands grabbed one of his shoulders, pushing him just a little bit lower so her lips could reach his jawline.

he looked back at her, a surprised look on his face covered by a smile. jooeun raised her hand again, signaling from the phone to her palm with her eyebrows. “come on. i never said he was the most gorgeous.” daniel gave in, returning the thing to her possession - but before his attempt of a kiss could be successful the girl moved forward, continuing to walk down the hallway.

“hey!” she kept walking, eyes glued to the picture he had managed to take. daniel was as good looking as he ever was while she held onto his shoulders right below him. with a giggle, her fingers did quick work of setting it as her new lockscreen, excited to see it next time she picked up her phone. “at least tell me who it is, then!” jooeun turned on her heels, staring at the boy who had let himself stay behind. she cupped her mouth with both hands, leaning forward so the sound would reach him faster. 

“kang daniel is the most gorgeous man in this universe!”

out of all the things her wand? it really felt like forgetting a shoe would have been more probable than her wand.

but she had done it.

there were still some minutes left to spare before her next class, so after a lot of complaining inside her head jooeun turned on her heels and started backtracking her way to the greenhouse. she tried going as fast as she could, but the terrain wasn’t much of a friend of hers. some years before the girl would have run and fallen with a smile, but she just kept fast walking with a frown and furrowed brows the whole way down.

as far as she knew the place should have been empty - but she was obviously mistaken. she didn’t spot him at first, her eyes were looking for a tiny stick and not a tiny wizard. it took her a few moments to focus on him, a gasp of surprise leaving her throat. “oh, i’m-” she tried taking a few steps back, but right behind her was a door. her back slammed into it and her eyes shut tight, embarrassed by her actions. “i didn’t mean to interrupt.”

studying was knowingly not one of daniel’s favorite things to do - ever, not any point in his life will he willing sit down and study. it was only his fifth year, he had plenty of time to be studying, there was always next year! ( nevermind he’s told himself the exact same thing every year since after his first )

studying simply did him no good. he still performed badly in class and it didn’t make the professors like him any more; there was no point. but he supposed he could entertain his parents for awhile - let them think these study session with jooeun were filled with nothing but spells and serious conduct. and he wasn’t completely lying, just… fibbing? jooeun always tried her best to actually teach him something from these dates but daniel always got his way ( a fact he felt a tad bit guilty for but he knew she could forgive him ).

upon entering the library daniel spotted her instantly, feeling his heart swell his joy at the lovely sight as he instantly began making his way towards her. he moved with light steps for he hoped to surprise his girlfriend - moving to stand quietly by her speak softly right next to her ear when close enough. “good afternoon jooeun’s dimples,” daniel greeted her as he did every day - with a poke to one of her dimples, followed by a quick peck on the check. “and good afternoon to you, jooeun.” 

jooeun was the type of person who was smart without studying, so seeing people struggle with their classes always got her confused, and also made those same people frustrated with her carefree life. funny enough she had found herself in a situation that was quite the opposite.

daniel was the one always seen with a bright smile on his face while the girl struggled to find a way for him to understand his classes. she was one year below him, but still managed to understand it better than he ever would. she wasn’t simply going to give up on him, though. they were not only best friends for several years, but had started dating not too long before. so jooeun poured her heart in planning a simple tutoring session for the two, writing things down with different pens and beautiful handwriting. hopefully the technique of grabbing children’s attention with colorful things would work with daniel as well. she wouldn’t be surprised if it did.

her mind was too focused on separating each piece of paper in the correct order to notice his arrival. he would probably blame it on his amazing sneaking skills, and jooeun would just have to agree. although the poke startled her for a second the familiarity of it quickly gave her a smile, showcasing the dimples he had just greeted. she couldn’t pinpoint exactly when he started doing it, but it had been their greeting for a long time. “good afternoon, daniel’s lips.” she said in a soft voice before leaning forward to give him a kiss. her part had certainly been a new addition, but not one she’d take long to grow used to. “good afternoon, daniel.” and so she looked back forward, pushing a strand of hair behind her ear in pure shyness. hopefully, they hadn’t disturbed any of students who were there to actually study. “i hope you’re just as excited to study as you are to see me.”
