The door swung open with a tall man carrying two boxes of baby stuff and more.

“It’s uncle Eli!!” Elijah calls out cheerfully.

He placed the boxes of stuff and hugged Valerie along with ruffling Leif’s curls.

“Hey little buddy, uncle Eli finally came back from work with the superheroes!” He said with a chuckle as he knelt down to Leifs height in the high chair.

Holding her baby boy in her arms was a gift come true. A baby was never in her plans due to her experiences with a mix of being the antagonist and protagonist..

But her doubts of being a good person changed when he came into her life.

Leif.. Leif-Alexander smith; named after her dead older brother of course.

21 year old Valerie woke up with feeling a small hand tug on her hand from above, looking from her pillow to see a 8 month old baby babbling and tugging on her hair playfully.

She groaned, yawning in the meantime.

“Baby, go back to sleep..” her voice was laced with sleep as she pulled the baby close into her arms, cuddling him like he was a plushie in her arms.

But at this point, Leif didn’t want to rest so as soon as his head touched the pillow he started to fuss. Squirming out of Valerie’s arms with a frustrated cry.

Val just scoffs, after a few seconds of him crying she picks him up.

“Fine, you win. Mamas up..” she mumbles, carrying the little boy into the kitchen before placing him in the baby chair.

She turned to the fridge, pulling out some apple sauce, even though he was growing out of it, he still liked it.

In the meantime, there was a knock at the apartment door. She wondered who it was.

“Doors open!” She calls out, unbothered about getting changed out of her pyjamas. She took a seat infront of Leif and feeding him with a spoon.
