You again missed the whole point and managed to make this situation all about yourself, so I’m going to assure your stupid ass - this war is not going to affect you in any way, but you know who it’s going to affect? Actual people from Ukraine, who are going to lose their lives and be displaced from their homes, just like for the past 8 years.

I won the 2004 Hugo Award for Best Short Story for an H. P. Lovecraft /Arthur Conan Doyle mashup fiction, so fanfiction had better be legitimate, because I'm not giving the Hugo back.
Or the 20O5 Locus Award for Best Novelette. I'm not giving that back either.

Greetings and salutations!
So... I cried at work today. It wasn’t because of the job or the people or anything of the sort. It was because I was listening to The Graveyard Book. I’m not sure to what extent the effect the ending had on me was due to the pandemic and how that lead to feelings of only being safe in my home (I would have said graveyard but that feels inappropriate in this context) and the idea of finally being able to be safe outside of it, or because I, like nobody, have always read about and dreamed about, and wondered about far off places and traveling and people, and just never really considered going on these trips myself. I don’t know if I’ll ever get around to traveling, but maybe one day I’ll get to enjoy being around other people who breathe and are alive.
So thank you for reminding me to live and enjoy life while I can.
