Is any of it real? I mean, look at this. Look at it! A world build on fantasy! Synthetic emotions in the form of pills, psychological warfare in the form of advertising, mind-altering chemicals in the form of food, brainwashing seminars in the form of media, controlled isolated bubbles in the form of social networks. Real? You want to talk about reality? We haven’t lived in anything remotely close to it since the turn of the century.

New Year

It's that ever-symbolic time again, provoking internal reflection amongst all of us. I can't say I have any specific hopes for the year, far from the general self development goals we all aspire to. Another year of seeking knowledge, travelling, battling addictions and conquering my own mind. I guess I hope that I will finally realise my purpose, allowing me to overcome many of the worries and stresses that plague my head. That being said, I have for the first time found a partner who I can envision sticking with for a very long time. She is beautiful, smart, driven and for some reason seems to like me too. I'm starting to understand that feeling of security that comes with a significant other, and I would do anything to keep that. Here's to being a better person, dropping the bullshit, and appreciating what I've got.
