1. That Time They Made Out

Harvest festivals are always a chore. They’re loud and full of strangers and always take longer than they’re supposed to. If Rodney had his way, he’d never go to another festival again. Another hundred-year storm on Atlantis would be preferable—a crashed jumper, even.

The only thing that ever makes it worth it is the alcohol. Not that Rodney is a fan, particularly, or that the alcohol cooked up on backwater planets is even good half the time. It’s more the fact that harvest festivals are the only time John ever indulges in the stuff. He sets his P90 aside and unzips his tacvest and knocks back moonshine with the locals like it’s his job. Which, maybe it is. Diplomacy is like that, sometimes.

Drunk John is a handful, sloppy and loud and unable to walk in a straight line. He’s also Ronon’s responsibility—if Ronon manages to keep himself sober enough to help, that is. But buzzed John, when he’s had just enough to relax, he’s another animal altogether.

Rodney’s always been a fan of animals.

Last book: I am on a bad streak, and I feel like I have disliked and not finished the last ten books I have started. Something that I love and that is the last thing I read on my Kindle is "Poems for the Lost Because I'm Lost Too - by exurb1a"

Last movie: Actually watched six bullets last week, after seeing all the shirtless Joe Flanigan GIFs. I miss Atlantis, though. Watching Joe Flanigan movies and imagining it's a weird AU does not really do the trick.

Last TV show: I am trying to watch SG-1, but I am only in season 2 and struggling a bit to get into it. It somehow feels a lot more old and sexist than Atlantis(?) I really want to watch that Atlantis episode in season 10 though, (I've never seen it) and I am telling myself I have to earn it and get there properly.

Sweet/savory/spicy: Savory, always. Or just salty, really.

Relationship status: Enthusiastically poly, but currently only in one thing that would be deemed a relationship

Last thing I googled: stardew valley coop (I actually wanted to know the price for the barn, but I did not remember the word 'barn')

Looking forward to: My free day tomorrow! Yay!

Current obsession: I got diagnosed with ADHD in December, and I am obsessed with the medication I got (Medikinet). What do you mean, I can just feel relaxed and content, and I can concentrate on my work? Seems extremely overpowered.

My dad asked me about fanfiction

So I visited my parents over Christmas and this conversation happened.

Dad: What are you doing on your laptop?

Me: Just writing something for fun.

Dad: What are you writing?

Me: Do you remember Stargate Atlantis? Me and some other people on the internet write little stories about the characters and then we share them with each other and it's great.

Dad: You write new episodes for Stargate Atlantis?

Me: Yes, kind of.

- next day -

Dad: So where did you say can I read your stories?

Me: Uhm... You can't read them. The website is called ao3, but I am not telling you my username or what I am writing.

Mom: That's good. You have a right to your privacy! Your dad is way to curious.

Dad: (Writes down -AO3- on a piece of paper)

Me: Uhm... and go there at your own risk.

Dad: Hm?

Me: It's mostly 'gay porn' (in english).

Dad: What's that?

Me (in german): Well pornographic storys about gay men.

Dad: Oh.

Mom (laughing):  See (my dads name), that's your favorite thing, isn't it.

- My parents talk about something else for 10 minutes -

Dad: Wait, so you are writing porn with gay men about Stargate Atlantis on the internet??

Me: I didn't say that. Maybe I do, maybe I don't. Who knows.

Dad: (really laughing about it) Okay.
