Similarities Between Fugou Keiji and Bungou Stray Dogs

Fugou Keiji: Balance Unlimited is an anime premiering this season, and after recommending a dud that I ended up dropping last season, I’m looking at you Pet, I wanted to reclaim something by recommending an anime that only has one episode out and can easily go downhill from a point where it wasn’t even that high to begin with. Seriously, the first episode wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t one of those episodes or anime that had me stoked.

The art is better than Pet (not saying much), and I guess there are some similarities here.

Mamoru Miyano, the voice of Dazai, plays Haru Katou who’s an officer with a good heart and does his best to do good for the people around him even if it gets him fired and severely demoted. You know, kind of like how Dazai moved from the Mafia to the ADA because he wanted to do some good for those around him. Anyways, Haru’s character is countered by Daisuke Kanbe who has pretty much unlimited money and power. He’s basically Fitzgerald without the super strength part. Haru is repulsed by Daisuke’s way of just throwing money at problems so they’ll go away (I’m just jealous of that), and so the two will probably work together to do stuff and yadda yadda.

The whole “buddy cop solving crime” stuff totally reminds me of BSD along with the *ahem* subtle baiting in the ED. Seriously, if you’re into that kind of stuff, I think this anime has you covered. Not saying that’s why @dazatsu​ got into it, but I think that’s a bonus for them. They probably spend their days cracking open cold ones to bring the bois in. Not to mention, they got some style and jazz in the soundtrack. The OP and ED are good too.
