just a reminder 🍁 be proud of yourself. be proud of how much you have improved and how much you have changed. be proud of your success- and your failures along the way. be proud of your persistence and your effort..

Since I did 17 before 2017, I wanted to do an 18 before 2018 as a personal checklist!
1. Work hard: explanatory, work hard and spend time doing the things you have to to get where you want to be
2. Love yourself: self care goes a long way, healthy body is a healthy mind!
3. Mental health: Do the things that make you happy to be alive, don’t sweat the small stuff and always choose mental health over study if it’s severely affecting you
4. Try something new: it’s a new year, don’t stick to what you know and experiment, whether it’s learning a language or skill, changing up your study style or travelling somewhere. You learn a bunch of new things.
5. Meet someone new: you learn so much from different perspectives, try to talk to someone you never have or you have little interaction with- you’ll be surprised how close you can get.
6. Record your memories: whether it’s taking photos or snap chatting or writing in a diary, you will look back and not regret (too much) seeing what you were up to in 2018
7. Treat yourself: at least once, because you deserve it (or hopefully you do, if you work hard!)
8. Have one lavish meal: doesn’t need to be incredibly expensive, but you’ll remember it for a long time, go out with your friends and enjoy it.
9. Discipline over motivation, it’s too fleeting to rely on motivation.
10. Know what’s happening in the world around you: read the news, scroll your feed- everything affects everything else.
11. Go out of your comfort zone: Doing something that you’re not necessarily comfortable with and facing your fear will make you come out less afraid.
12. Know to prioritise: go out with your friends if you’ve been studying all day and need a break, and know when to hunker down and study if your test is too important.
13. Complain less: Realistically, you’re not going to stop complaining, but try to stop when you realise it and go with the flow (wow this sounds like a load of BS I’m sorry I’m trying)
14. Appreciate more: same as point 13, you’re so lucky to have education and internet and everything you take for granted, appreciate your life, your friends, your family.
15. Help someone else out: you have so much power as an individual to help another, use it!
16. Be a good friend: be there for the people who you hang out with a lot, they appreciate it more than you ever know.
17. Be less pessimistic: I’m someone who always fears for the worst- but fear for the worst and hope for the best.
18. Celebrate the small things!! You passed that test?? Celebrate it! You so rarely have big moments in your life that it’s worth taking time to see the value in your everyday victories. I hope all of you have a wonderful 2018!!
